I am going to post a separate thred to explane situation. To much of a pain in the ass to do this from a cell phone.

Ok now I am on a real keyboard.

I am ruuning this thred to get advice and to let others see my grow.

History: I have done Indoor grows way in the past before genetics were easily available I did have decent results with bag seed back then, but this is my first serious grow indoors.

Setup: The grow box is 4'x4'x7'h, I am currently using 1-600watt MH on a digital ballast and 1-175watt MH standard ballast. I have 2-90cfm inline exaust fans going into can carbon filters, 3-4" intake holes in the bottom w/ 4" dryer hose painted flat black on the inside to prevent light leaks from the cabinet. and a 12" occilating fan.

Plants: 10-White Widow and 5 Mystery seeds that came with the w/w. 3 of the 5 mystery seeds are sativa dominate and are in the back of the cabinet and are very hard to control. I have been doing LST since they were 4" tall untill last Friday, since then they have been free to go vertically. Current plant hight is 1 w/w runt 6" tall, 9- w/w 8" to 10" tall, 3 sativa 12" tall. My babies are in 2 gallon buckets but are going to be transplanted tomarrow and have one more week to recover and veg under 24/0 light for one more week, then it is flower time!

Soil and nutes: They are in Mirical Grow Moisture Control with 2 cups Vermaculite per bucket ( I Know I did not use the good stuff! (I could not afford it my First Grow). My water mix is 1 tbls. vinagar, 2 tbls hydrogen peroxide, 4 tbls fox farm big bloom to 1 gallon water. Why vinagar? my tap water is around 6.8 to 7.0 Ph, plus Mirical grow soil is pre-nuted between those 2 things I need to do that to keep the ph at a constant 6.5Ph in the soil. Started to have nute lock once already before I started to use Fox Farm.

Next step: Re-pot Tomarrow, Veg 1 more Week, start flower next Friday.

Thanks,

Just got back from a 5 gallon bucket hunt. Home depot wanted $5.00 each I refuse to pay close too $80.00 for buckets.
So I went to a construction site and went dumpster diving while doing that one of the workers came out and saw what I was doing and said you don't need to do that and took me inside to an area. Low and behold about 25 washed out buckets and he said hellp your self just leave me a few. So I grabed 18 of them for free.

So all I have to is sterilize them.

looks like a good day.

Free buckets??? Bonus Points!!!

I spent $1 ea for my 12 QT (3 gallon) buckets. Pretty chinzcy though, may not last more than one or two grows. I have plenty of 5 gallon buckets but with the number of plants that went fem this grow, I don't have room for anything but the 3 gallons.

I fogot to put thin in the last post.
He did ask me what I needed them for and I told him I paint them and put sand I'm them and place Christmas decorations in them. That's when he offered the ones inside. EARLY CHRISTMAS I Guess.

After reading a thred that I had running in indoor growing forum I decided to hold off on re-potting today,it is not as urgent as I thought.
New plan: Today is the start of week 7 so I took out the 600w MH and put in the 600w HPS, installed the timer and set to 12/12. TIME TO FLOWER!!!!!!!

Why the change? My plants are not suffering yet, so put them in flower now remove males in 2 weeks then re-pot, save cost on soil by not repotting males.

I rotated plants today so here are more pics.

I forgot to close the windows when the light went out, box got down to 54f this morning. Was only for 2 hours.
It is back up to 65 now.
I need to look up temp ranges and come up with a failsafe system to prevent this from happening outside air is my cooling when lights on.
Any ideas !!

Just got out my loupe and took a look.

So FAR THE FEMALES HAVE IT!!!!

7 confirmed females
3 confirmed males
5 n/s 2 leaning female 3 leaning male

That is a possible 9 females out of 15!!!

I will check again tomarrow.

Shovelhandle
11-26-2007, 11:30 PM
9 for 15 would be pretty decent.

As far as the cool temps, pot puts up with lots of dips in temp up my way (outdoor grows the temps often go sub 40s or cooler in the Spring and again in Autumn.). It never seemed to bother them a bit. 54ยบ f isn't really that cold.

PS there are tropical strains of pot tht will not tolerate cold as well as afghani indicas. for example.

Yeh kinda freeked out when I woke up and saw that. I knew it wouldn't kill them, more worried about shock.
Going from nice warm environment 24hours of light no worries in the world, then bammm!!! 100% darkness, cold as hell, my hormones are raging WTF HAPPENED!!! do I go male do I female or do I go down the middle.

I doubt it hert them if anything I read is below 60 they stop growing.

The Good thing is I am 2 to 3 days away from more room to let my babies strech out and get that precious light to those little budlings below.

Jerry Garcia 2007
11-28-2007, 01:35 AM
Here are some pics of my 9 confirmed little girl's at puberty, plus one that I am not 100% positive on yet I am leaning to male unfortunatly, so he gets one more day of good light. The boys have been removed to the closet under my 175 mh just to make sure they have balls. I do want to save one to collect some pollon probably put him in the basement.
So the count is 5 w/w girls out of 10, and get this 4 out of 5 of the mystery seed are female.

11-28-2007, 04:15 PM
Wow man, BIG n' LUSH!

My present grow is four varieties and I got 8 fems, 1 male out of nine plants. That's the best odds I ever remember for that many plants.
I will try and duplicate my efforts next time. That's why I believe that having a log sheet is good.

Got home today and fed my girls they look great, twice as many hairs today and starting to be able to see the pistils with the naked eye.
Then I decided to check in on the cloans that I started so I could check the sex of my plants ( long story explane why later ).
5 cloans have rooted I then checked which plants they came from and all are females 3 mystery seed and 2 w/w

So now I have to kick the males out of the closet and set up my nursery with my 175 MH. I am thinking of growing a few monsters with these. with an 8 to 9 week veg.
I will post some pics later.

Jerry Garcia 2007

It has been awhile since I left an update.
Well all the girls are in 5 gallon buckets and loving the new space, the root balls used every bit of space in the buckets should have transplanted 2 weeks earlier I think.
this is day 11 of flowering they have grown about 8 to 12 inches in that time.
So what you think? Good or bad welcomed.

Wow what a day can do. Flowers look like their kicking into high gear. white pistol's are starting to flow from all the little budlets.

I do have a clone question.
When you clone for sexing but want to grow them into mother's or next crop.
Do you need to cut off the tiny flowers?

JackHerer

MVP has done a clone log

http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-growing/142258-clone-log-cloning-pics-using-master-kush-mom.html

Don't really know if it covers your question. I have always cloned prior to flowering. So the first time when it was beanlings I took all the clones labeled them as to which plant they came from & then when I flowered the plants tossed all the male clones. I didn't keep those for mothers as I didn't have spcae but I then took clones from them at my friends who I gave them to & kept those from mothers.

We did once have a broken branch during flowering which my friend trimmed and tried as a clone. Didn't take the flowers of & it did seem to take a while to get going compared to the others. It also never came to much.

Again though read MVP's log as there will probaly be more there.

Great thread !!

Thank you,
Didn't quite answer my question though. I figure it will have the same effect as topping. And possibly stop the flowering hormone, they have rooted very well but new growth is so so. they have been under 24/0 for 2 weeks.

JackHerer

Glad it was a good read for you JG2007, haven't fully read it myself so wasn't sure it covered what you were after. There is quite a few topics on here discussing cloning have you tried using the search box just type in clones you sould get quite a few back.

Most I have read don't recommend cloning during flowering. You could also try what Arjan suggested at a grow seminar attended. You could carry on flowering the plants you have. When your harvesting only cut off the bud's and there branches so you can reveg the plant. I understand re veg's can take a while but even if you were to do it untill you got some nice new shoots in veg state you could then clone those.

Jerry Garcia 2007
12-09-2007, 02:53 PM
Well I have 2 clones with flowers so I decided to top one and see what happens. Might as well run an experiment for future knowledge.
I will keep you updated.

Skrappie
12-09-2007, 04:40 PM
Jerry, I'm not a clone pro, But I recently got a clone that was well into flowering, besides taking about 2 weeks to reveg, I left the flowers on, and they stayed around, The plant half ass grew Pistils about a week after it started to reveg, and then it just quit.

I think you will be okay if you leave some flower matter on there, as long as it does not cause you a molding problem.

Well a lot has grown since last update. I did do a heavy pruning to expose the buds to light, They seem to be enjoying it. I did remove all the small growth on the bottoms and had a bunch of small branches that didn't have flowers or very tiny flowers and decided to make clones out of them. I ended up with 43 clones in rockwool.

Has anyone taken clones this late in flower but from the bottom where they are small branches 3 to 6 inches long and may have tiny buds on them? If so what was your success at it?

If they come out I got to think about what to do with them. i 'm thinking a quick sog grow no lst.

What you think?

JG thats some nice flowering you've got going on there are you using any flowering boosters?

Nice toping or FIM on pic 2. I'm not sure about the pruning the info on here is mainly against or contradictory. But it depends because I believe that is mainly on pruning large fan leaves of branches with bud. I have seen elsewhere some pruning techniques especially for when outside so the main branches are above average vermin height. Also saw a known grower going on about his curing techniques which involved no manicuring. However on his video's about 1 - 2 weeks before the end he trims all the leaves of the bud branches. Will be interested in seeing how it develops.

Jerry Garcia 2007
12-15-2007, 02:10 AM
As for flower boosters my watering mix is:
1 good glop backstrap mollasses = 1 1/2 to 2 Tbls.
3 Tbls hydogen peroxide
1/4 tsp. Jacks 12/36/14 with trace minerals
1 Tbls vinagar.
to 1 gallon water.

Watering is 72 ozs every 4 to 5 days currently, I put 2/3 on top and 1/3 in the bottom, again due to the amount of coco in
the soil it is like a sponge so watering from
the top and bottom make for a nice even distribution of waster.

The vinagar is to counter any ph rise in my soil. I am using MG moisture control, the soil stays a constant 6.5 by doing this.

How I got them to grow like this is strikly by LST. never topped a single plant or branch.

I learned most of this stuff in here.

JackHerer
12-15-2007, 04:39 PM
Cheers for the info on the mix I will need to read up on the stuff you use. At the moment I use comercial products Cannaboost & PK 13/14.

Very cool then for pic 2 to be an LST job it looks very similar to the crowning effect I got on my last clones with FIM.

Jerry Garcia 2007
12-16-2007, 05:41 AM
Jack,

You were interested in the how the crowning looked here are some close up's and some more pics.

I did this completely by LST I kept them tied down there entire veg up until 2 weeks ago, 1 week into flower when they were repoted then I just let them go.

I realized that not all my grow info is not contained in this log so here is an accurate time line of my grow to date.

October 12, placed 15 seeds in
paper towel 10 w/w, 5 mystery seeds from the seed bank that came with the w/w.

October 15, all seeds cracked and placed in soil. then placed under 600 watt MH.

October 18, all 15 seeds sprouted and healty.

October 24, All 15 plants transplanted to 2 gallon buckets. I feel I did this a little early could have waited a week more. luckly no damage done.

October 29, started LST on plants.

November 9, took a cutting from each plant for sexing, this did not go well, took to long for cloans to show sex. good side these are the cloans in my other grow log.

November 23, switched to flowering cycle 13/11

November 30, sex known on all 15 plants males removed from growing area. ended up with 9 females, 6 males. of the females 5 were w/w, 4 mystery seeds.

From here everything is covered in this log.

Well guess what plants are maturing fast now seems soon for this plant may have another one tomarrow. but it is definatly ready. Trics were over 60 % cloudy, pistals were 80% red.

This was one of the Mystery seeds that I got with the white widow. she is at the bottom of of my middle producers

She is very sticky and gives off a citrisy smell and taste, best description orangy.

Good size buds not the biggest but heavy my guess when dry and cured 1 1/2 to 2 oz.

Thank you for the comments.

Deaner,
Yes it is becoming very hetic with plants maturing, clones exploding with growth and out growing the veg box. Trying to balance this out is proving to be a challenge. If you think this grow is nice wait till the offspring of these mothers start to flower they are twice the size of these plants before flowering so my box is going to be filled with monsters, pray I have enough space because there are going to be 12 plants next round not 9!

Also you asked how long I have been doing this. This is my first serious indoor grow. I have grown way in the past, but with bag seed, and outdoors, with decent results. This was over 15 years ago though, I did do one indoor grow a long long time ago in an attic and got maybe a coulple ounces from it. I have known I'm good at it because I just love to garden and have always had a green thumb. Then one day I looked at my situation and said to myself. You have an extra bedroom no one else in the house so why not grow some MJ that will pay for the room, not be a pain in the ass housemate and save me money.

Big Bertha has been identified, she is one of my mystery seed plants.
I was checking her out tonight and rubbed one of the small buds inbetween my fingers and guess what I smelled.

VERY STRONG BLUEBERRY !!!!!

So she is either a very heavy blueberry cross or a good genetic blueberry strain:)

Sorry down loaded pics before rotating.

thanks for all the help. you got some great looking plants! I cant wait to see some big ol buds on my plants. I also had an extra room, no one uses but me, and now its found some good use, at least the closet, for now, that should be adequate for alot of buds for me, and my closest freinds.

Finally this forum is back up.

Well these pictures are from Friday when I gave them their final flush.
All are individual pics. All in order but don't remember what is what.
6 plants are left they were sacrificed you say to try different harvesting and drying technics plus to make room for the next crop.

In my opinion is 3 days dark then cut stalk at soil level and hang upside down with fan blowing on them in 60 deg room works best. Nice and sticky with great smell.

Well here are the pics 3 are the mystery seed that I have not identified 1 Blueberry 2 white widow.

I don't know WTF but try to upload and comes back up load failed will try later.

Well it is time to harvest this Mystery plant.
She is the first of 6 of my heavyweights.

She has been in the dark for 3 days, I just prepared her for harvest and took these pics.

I am goin to cut her at the stalk hang upside down for a week.

She has developed very nicely. I can't place what strain she is or tell you the high yet I haven't tasted her. Judging by her size and comparing to past harvests the final wheight will be in the 3 oz. range.

This is the last pic of this White Widow plant. She was the smallest of my first grow at 20". Somewhere along the line I overwatered her and she never fully recovered. Except for she budded nicely very tight and heavy for size, Trics at harvest 50/50 clear/cloudy.

Drying method: 3 days in dark closet fan blowing before cutting. 5 days hanging upside down in closet after cutting. 16 hours in cardboard box with warm air from heating vent blowing thru box for final dry. No real curring.

Final Weight: 27g

Buzz Description: One Word can only describe it "VEGITABLE" You cannot smoke 2 hits of this and not get busted for being high! very very hypnotic, and couchy. Do Not Smoke and Opperate Anything after smoking this. Surprised the hell out of me how good it smokes, very smooth not to expansive, immeadiate rush that does not stop untill you are completely relaxed, no feeling of paranoia.

Current cloan count: 2 very large healty ones in flower box.

Jerry Garcia 2007
01-21-2008, 06:02 PM
Sorry the numbers might be confusing but it is my tracking system.

This harvest was already documented but not finished. First off it was miss labled as Harvest Mystery plant #1 in previouse post.

Turns out this was a whit widow that I harvested way to early. Beginners mistake.

When havested this was the 3rd smallest plant. Dried out to a very nice fluffy smoke. this was quick dried by going directly into a cardboard box with warm air from heating vent blowing thru it for 48 hours.

Final weight: 37g. (would have been doulble that if I let her go)

Buzz description: Very energetic not heady, good ability to focuse on a single task, don't multi-task, creativity hightened, very good social high.

Current cloan count: 1 in flower box, 5 in veg box, 1 mother.

Cannot get pic to attatch will be in next post don't want to lose writing.

This is a disappointing report.:(

First off I was trying different drying technics and this didn't go well.
She was the second smallest plant and decent growing, I did 3 days dark in the closet then cut down, hung upside down for 5 days was dry on outside so went directly to curring, To Wet looking back on it. what was left molded in curring jar about 4 grams. Again beginners mistake.
Never really sampled due to wet and better smoke followed very soon after this harvest luckly have cloans to see plants potential again.

Finale weight: 31g

Cloan count: 1 flower box, 7 in veg box, 1 mother.

Jerry Garcia 2007
01-21-2008, 07:07 PM
Well that is it for what has made it to finale product. These were my smallest plants and kind of sacrificed to figure out the best drying technic for me before the mother load. the rest of the plants for this grow are hanging or in darkness.

So the best is yet to come :)

01-23-2008, 12:57 AM
Well she has been in the closet for 3 days and got her trimming just now and is ready for cutting:)

She is 24" tall
Buds very thick and heavly coated with trichs, it is like fly paper but smells a lot better:)

Longest colas of pure bud 1-12'', 1-11'', 2-10''

01-23-2008, 03:54 AM
Saved the best for last:)

She is the largest plant in this crop. The Cola's on her are 2'' in diameter by 12" to 10" long. A single bud is the size of my thumb. Unbelievable wheight. All around great performer can't wait for her to dry out.

Now if I put some huge clones of her outside this summer I can't image how big they will be. Definitly got a mother going of her.

Dutch Pimp thanks for the help adjusted the fan for circulation only.

This is also a reason for harvest a plant early if you are out. Lets the main crop dry properly:)

So far what has your best yeilder givin you? Funny to see them in the shower, mine will probably be dried in an unused shower when I get to that point. I'm curious what kind of yeilds can be expected from the white widow, I'm thinking I'd like to grow some myself.

Here are the laidies hanging around in the closet, which is pretty much full. This is a beutifull site to behold, I am just amazed I did this (please pinch me) l can't believe this is real.

To answer your question Deaner my best harvest to final product so far was 37 grams or just over 1 1/4 oz fro m the largest of my smallest plants. The mother load is hanging now so I really can't give you an actual number yet for an average weight for a large healthy plant.

Just to get intrest in my next grow is a current pic of my flower box with six cloans from this crop and 3 female THC Bomb plants they are spread out as to time in there, 2 1/2 weeks to 1 week. They also had a much longer veg 7 1/2 weeks. I also have got my watering and feeding schedule down, so all around much better health and growth this grow at this point. I will post an update soon in that log " 2nd grow from cloans and Thc bomb seeds".

Well she came out to be a good plant, Dried this plant entirely natural. no heat just cool dry air for 7 days untill stems snaped.

Description of Buds: Colas were very long and great producers bud wise. Buds came out very nice and sticky with a good skunky odor not to strong.

Description of smoke: Has a very hashy with a touch of sweetness kind of taste leading me to believe it is a strain with Middle Eastern lines, ( AK-47, or Kush ). Also expands simmilar to hash.

Buzz Description:After taking a hit of this and you get over the expansion, you get a very strong head rush that leaves you with a very heady buzz. It is a narcotic type of high, very spacy, and leaves you obliviouse to what is going on around you. Don't plan on getting much done after smoking this, you can't concentrait on anything your mind just keeps wandering.

Final Weight: 51g or just over 1-3/4 oz. of pure bud (no stems), buds are very dry that is why the weight is alot less than expected but filled a 2 qt. jar to the rim.

Having trouble getting pics to post, I will have to put in next post I do not want to lose the description.

After sampling the previous plants, this is so far my second most favorite, the first is the w/w that I harvested first but was way to early.

Description of buds: They are of good quality and density, Dried the same method as #8 so they are very nice and dry while retaing a very sticky quality. Smell is of a sweet skunk that is not that strong untill you touch them, then a strong skunky smell quickly fills the room and your fingers.

Description of smoke: very smooooth and sweet with a little hint of spices. ( not sure what Strain to put this under but tastes damn good )
Not expansive all around best description would be like a top top shelf coanac.

Description of Buzz: Now this is why it is one of my favorites. Starts off as a smooth hit that starts a rush that goes thru your entire body and makes you feel relaxed, not a couchy high or narcotic high but more energetic, makes you feel good and able to still consontraite. Lasts a very long time 3 hours or more from 2 hits.

Final Weight: 56g or exactly 2 oz. of pure bud (no stems) Very pretty looking, Very high quality smoke that I can get top rate for this stuff.

Will post pics of plant in next post.

Well I am over the half way point in my harvest and here is the total weight of 5 plants.

202 grams or just over 7-1/4 ozs. I have 4 left that are conciderably larger, I would say in the 2 to 3 oz range so 2-1/2 oz min per plant will be an additional 10oz., so a total of 17 oz. from this grow, looks like I will make my 1lb. goal:)

Wow that was a very fun grow, and I am really enjoying the smoke. After everthing was all done dried and cured the total weight of this grow was 15.5 ounces from 9 plants. DAMN MISSED MY GOAL BY 14 GRAMS.:( actually I am happy as a pig in the mud with what I got. )

The Blueberry is my favoite smoke from this grow. The taste and smell is of this is so unreal. It went directly into my personal stash and only to my closest 2 friends. It is fun to here them talk about how good it is and they have no idea I grew it. They think I got it from my supplier that I do not need anymore plus they are saying he must have got a new supplier because the buds have never been this good from him. I'd tell them but there is no real need for them to know I grew it, I just sit back and chuckle to myself.

Keeping this a secret from your friends can be a chore, but it's well worth it... especially if you plan on doing it on a regular basis. Great job, and enjoy the results of all your hard work!

Mr.Clandestine you are exactly right it is a chore to keep my grows to myself, but definetly worth it.

The way I look at it is if I told them, then they told someone else and that person got busted. Then offered me up to save his or her ass over a 1/4 oz.

That is my biggest worry and the only way to control it is not to tell anybody, the only exception is to tell anyone that will be directly affected if you get caught. ie. ( room or housemates ) and make them agree to the same rule because they almost have just as much at stake as you.
I don't have any housemates except for my dogs and MJ plants:) so that is a plus.
