ok, Weedhound, here's the new impossible log!:wtf:

here's a quik update for those of u following along at home

-Thai bagseed from a trip to Holland in 1991.
(from this trip, there were 8 beans, i now have 4 left;))
-Thai germed (1 of 4) and completed 1st grow in 6 months.
-2 clones were cut just prior to Flowering.
-Those clones are 7 weeks into Flowering right now.
-it was recently decided to try a cut late in the game, instead of trying to self one of the plants.

so thats it, follow along whilst our inept stoner tries to bring back a 16 year old strain of Thai bought while in Holland back in 1991.
If this experiment is a success, the sole purpose is selfing and harvesting beans.

back when i was a kid, i remember a saying, "Thai dont lie"
when's the last time YOU had some Thai?:wtf:

moving forward, these beans will be known as 91 dutch thai.
if anyone knows of a copyright or TM infringement, please advise.;)

ok, details forward-
found 2 strong shoots down low.
decided to leave the flower intact for now.
cut on angle, scraped, hormone powdered, planted, domed.
put them in with the comrades.
I tried 2 volunteers.
pics of process.
i expect them to stay dormant the next couple weeks.
i will update when there is something to report, good or bad.

Those are so CUTE! I will be watching this (sorry no advice here cause I'm clueless with clones) because if "Kushette" makes it I wll be trying cloning next as well.

I too will be watching this. I want to see those flowering clones make it. I probably would have left a little more foliage, but hopefully yours will fine. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it would be right for you to name your seeds as planned. I made a strain called 91 dutchess of thailand. Too similar I think. Cool humidity dome. Have you tried cloning from flowering plants before?

you could always try to reveg it after you harvest, but thats a last ditch effort since you want to maintain this strain.....but its sounds like you may be in that boat, leave plenty of leaves and buds, and keep your fingers crossed.....good luck.

thanks gang and welcome to the experiment.

Weedhound, always happy to see you, take a seat, i packed a bowl:thumbsup:

good call Opie, thanks:thumbsup: name is squashed.
"Rockn Dutch Thai"? yeah, had a backup in mind;)
i think i can name it just about anything after 16 yrs in storage, right:D

actually that branch was one that had more leaf left near it.
they been droppin yellows like mad the last 10 days.
the dome is just 1 of those Glad disposables flipped over that happens to fit like a glove.

Have you tried cloning from flowering plants before?
now THAT is a funny question actually.
if u look at my sig, u will see my 1st 3 grows, actually, 3 of first 4 grows, i also have some Blue Russians germd and in week 4 veg (thx WH;)) so, to answer directly, no, this is my second attempt at cloning, and just happens to be during flower. yes, im slightly insane, think i spend too much time around here with weedhound.:wtf:

12345... i was thinkin along those lines as well, only as a last resort.

and to be honest gang, not really sure why im doin it, but somethin tells me to help preserve this strain since the beans did last 16 years.
other than some strange cannabis karma, i cant think of a single reason why im doing it???:wtf:

maybe just stone cold crazy:wtf::D

i have herd of cloning buds before , i took clones at 2 and 3 weeks flower. 2/3 worked at 2 weeks ?/6 at 3 weeks let u know only took them a few days ago, it should work just will take longer than it would if done during veg. Good luck:thumbsup:

Yes you did make Ping and Pong Rock so you are ahead of the game there. I kind of agree with about the "why am I doing this again?" part (with my plant) but it DOES seem like there is something about them that you just don't want to let go so here we are....:D

Glad to hear they're doing good.

I'm really sorry for the confusion. People sometimes say I have a dry sense of humor. For the longest time I thought that meant I have a poor sense of humor or something, then someone told me that just means that the way I present it sometimes, people don't always know if I'm serious or not. I'll try to be a little more straight forward.

Continued good luck on the grow.

dude, no worries at all.
I am a wizeazz-deluxe.
if youve tortured yourself to read my 1st log and the dialog with the WH, you'd know it for sure.;)

and even if i wasnt a wizeazz, no worries:thumbsup:

im just glad its probably a name i can use, not that it really matters that much, its not like im about to become the next Joey Weed:wtf:
but i do think it'll be cool, if someday, someone blazes me up and says, "oh yeah, thats 91 Dutch Thai"

and of course, my reply would be "really? tastes as good today as it did in 91" and then i get to tell this story.:D

cloning flowering plants works really well if you can get them to root,i actually took some clones from a plant after i harvested it,and the ones that rooted did really well, were way more branchy than the original plant was, there were branches coming from all the old ?callyxes?,though the leaves start out real retarded,i was left with a proper little bush

i would guess its definately a possibility.
i been keepin a close eye in anticipation.

what i'm hoping, is if that does happen, the rooting would have gotten to a point that it wont hurt if i am forced to snip off a lil fungii.

i was going to snip the flowers before i did this, but then read a couple posts where ppl left the flower and it served as nutient for the rooting.

with that said,,,,,i dunno:wtf:

i'm gonna give some more time and wait to see what they want to do.

is there some kinda antifungal spray i could use?

:wtf: <-- i luv this smilie. i actually make this face in real life.LOL!

I was going to suggest that. They are found in the garden section of most your bigger home improvement stores. I got mine at Bi-Mart (like Wallmart, only suckier, if you can imagine that). I would keep the humidity dome off for awhile after spraying, until things dry out a little.

noted, and Thanks!
i got the less suckier one nearby.:D
i'll get some tomorrow, and spray next mornin.
with everyone in the same room, light schedule is ruled by the flowering bondaged ones, as the veg cabinet is underneath n light sealed.

oh, btw, i failed to note that i watered and sprayed with superthrived water when i cut n planted em.

quite a collection of experts here on the CannCom.
I like it!:D

my first thought is yes....but I think it has become more popular lately. I can't tell you if WallyWorld or Home Depot carry it though. It comes highly recommended to me but a word of warning.....when you use it....RAISE YOUR LIGHTS for a good 24 hours.....I didn't raise mine for long enough and fried some pretty good tops off....actually I think it was my LAST MK grow perhaps. Ahh what a difference 89,4958 mstakes make to your point of view....:D (which is 89 yadda yadda that I won't make again. ;))

Nice Rock, really nice.. You are 'burping' the humidity dome every day a couple of times, right? The lil girls gotta breathe...

Rock.Steady
11-27-2007, 02:27 AM
yes, been burpin, and left lid off today to let em dry a lil.
i forgot to get the spray today, but have off tomorow, the new job just folded this mornin:wtf:
but have meetings tomorow to try to hook up with some old associates.
i work fast:D
so, i'll get the spray tomorow and have all day to mess around with them:thumbsup:

ok, i been slackin.
a few days after the last post, i saw it,,,mold.
yep fuzzy crap in the flower area.
had the dome on for too long.
sprayed with some F-icide, i dunno brand, was all i could find.

couple days later they looked scarey, too coated with the stuff to get any lite, so, i shot the stuff off with a spray bottle n water.

2 days later, fuzzy mold again.
so, i shot with f-icide again, but on 'stream' instead of 'spray'.
not as foamy and still got the meds.

that was today, we'll see about tomorow.

just came across the post and I would love to know how it worked out. I have a plant that is in 5th week of flower and if I don't try and clone it now I will lose it forever.

Rock.Steady

they didnt survive.

cloning in flower is tricky biznezz.

earlier the better.
its not impossible, ive done it, as have others,

but, it takes longer and is more prone to failure.

if u feel u must, do it AT ONCE.

give them time and love.

Good Luck.:pimp:

=edit-
Matter of fact,
i have one i took in week 6, a Blue Russian.
its in week 12 after the cutting and just moved to flower last weekend.

are u prepared for a long ride?
