View Full Version : The year 2012, Will it be the End?

I have heard about this for sometime now, and the year 2012 ends on the miya calender, the myans where very acurate at calculating time, and predicted perfectly full moons, and other events thousands of year ahead of there time, Scientist have learned the poles may shift from north to south, which happens every 50,000 years and where coming up to it very close, What i mean by poles shifting is, all land mass is sitting on lava and the outer shell which is land will rotate dramtically faster then usual causeing the earth to spin of axis and go off course out of our the solar system. Now this may sound like a bunch nonsence but i saw a show on it and it was suprisingly believable, Just go to google and type in 2012 doomsday and read about it, I was trippin out about this lol, Is it a fad, to get people scared n this is all about money?, Or is it something more real?

Its all bullshit scientifically the world will end when the sun burns out which is in about 5 billion years thank god we wont be around then could you just imagine the end of the world each day getting worse and worse???

But i think by that time 5 billion years later technology will be so advanced that somehow they would come up with some sort of replacement for the sun lol.

A list of times throughout history the world was supposed to end.

Click A Brief History of the Apocalypse (http://www.abhota.info/end1.htm)

I do not claim that this is 100% correct, I just grabbed it from Google. But the point still stands. The world was supposed to end at many different points through history.

My best friend is originally from Guatemala, the land of the Mayan and it is Edgar's fault that the Mayans have made the end of days prediction. I blame my best friend for the end of the world every chance I get.:D
Another thing, I do hope the world ends up on December 23 2012

If the world ended in 2012 I would be a bit dissapointed. I would rather the world end when I was in my 40s or so but I guess if it has to be 2012 then so be it. I would LOVE to live through the apocolypse, to me that would be the most wicked way of dieing.

By the way, Einstein predicted the polar shift in 2012. I'm not sure if he said anything about it being the end of the world but he did say it.

The world won't end. No. The people will end. Thats a different story though. And it may not be in 2012, but eventually, the people will end and the planet will cleanse itself and make way for whatever new form of life it chooses suitable for the land. I just hope that whatever intelligent life form comes next is smarter than we humans, cause we dumb. Just take a look at the average American or turn on the news. People are dumb.

No one can say the world is or isn't going to end because they don't necessarily know whats goign to happen when the poles shift. And i think its sketchy to plant something like that all on one day. I mean how the fuck long does it take for poles to shift?

The problem is not that the world will end in December 23 2012. The problem is the world will not end, and we will have to deal with the world and our lives after 2013.

But hell I am cool with global destruction or the ending of the human race. In fact I will be in Tikal in Guatemala on December 23 2012. I will be smoking joints on top of a pyramid waiting and hoping.

I don't get where the reasoning comes from that on predictable intervals the earths magnetic field reverses in some drastic event, after reading about earths magnetic field this seems highly unlikely that it would be a predictable drastic event, and even more so unlikely to be accurate down to a day, or even a year when you're talking 1000's of years ago this was "predicted".

I understand the predictability of solar events, moon cycle etc., but when you are talking geological events/changes, reversal of earths magnetic field volcano etc., the changes either occur over time or are drastic and unpredictable or only predictable in wide approximations, it just doesn't seem to fit with this supposed end of the world. Plus it is not unusual for a society to claim an end of times and many have done it before, the mayans were impressively intelligent however the theory does not fit to me, and considering they it is theorized based on there writings that they did not have telescopes based on references to constellations etc. and there calander year did not account for a leap year, it was 365 days, I do not see any reason to take this much more seriously then previous end of times predictions.

Sorry if this rambles or is incoherant but thanksgiving was harvest and I am enjoying early satisfaction.:stoned:

December 21, 2012 is said to be the beginning of the apocalypse(meaning in Greek: An unveiling, revelation) by Nostradamus, the date of the Earth's polar shift, and the end of the Mayan calender, World War III, etc.

Something will happen and current events seem to be closing in around this subject. It's very real.

Now is the time to rid your fear of death, and welcome your afterlives. Life will continue.

Well, for what reason should I believe the world is going to end because the Mayans stopped writing the calender beyond 2012?

I've read about the subject briefly, and seen plenty of other "The world is going to end" theories, what makes this one any different? I have never seen any worthy evidence that imply the world will end by this specific date.

I'm not poking fun at you or anything, I'm just saying I find it hard to believe. If you have any real evidence that you feel will make me think otherwise then feel free to show me.

Sorry Nation_1ne, I can't exactly remember all of the prophets on hand but first off do some astronomical research on 2012. I do know that the predictions come from the Mayans, Nostradamus and the knights templar. Another cool thing to research is secret underground facility's built by governments designed to survive nuclear attacks and global destruction. One last thing to do, go to wikipedia and type in 2012 (lots of interesting stuff). I don't believe the earth will come to a complete end in the year 2012, but I do believe that something very significant will happen and effect the way we live on that date.

I've had a look and something that striked me was "According to the Maya there will be a baktun ending in 2012, a significant event being the end of the 13th 400 year period, but not the end of the world." so just for those who are saying the Mayans said it's the end of the world, you may want to check your sources.

"For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle,"

"Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."

Ok, so that's the Mayans. They don't think the world will end then but they believe something will happen because it's the end of a cycle.

"The Bible Code is a best-selling controversial book by Micheal Drosin, first published in 1997. A sequel, The Bible Code II, was published in 2002 and also reached best-seller status. The third book in the series is to be released in 2007, called The Bible Code III: The Quest."

"Drosnin suggests that the Code was written by extraterrestrial life (which he claims also brought the DNA of the human genetic code to Earth). Drosnin elaborates on this theory in The Bible Code II, suggesting that the alien who brought the code left the key to the code in a steel obelisk. Drosnin attempted to find this obelisk, which he believes is buried near the Dead Sea."

No, just no. I refuse to believe this theory based on this.

I also decided to check out this website:

2012 End of the world (http://www.godrealized.com/2012.html)

When I visited the page I instantly headed for the Mayan Doomsday section. I mean after all Wikipedia had said that 2012 wasn't doomsday just the end of an era that would have been celebrated. It was also stated the calender exceeded 2012. However that website seems to contradict that all and say that 2012 was interpreted by the Mayans as the end of the world.

Like I said this topic is sketchy and I just find it hard to believe. Sorry.

I don't believe in the actual end of the planet Earth but the inevitable change in humanity is upon us, whether it be good or bad.

Again, I see the apocalypse as an "unveiling" of some sort of truth that will be made public and affect us all. There is a difference between the 2012 Apocalypse and the 2029-2030-2036 Armageddon theories. I wonder if the unveiling is the truth about us or those we live under.

I'm more curious than afraid.

The human race doesn't live forever, change is natural. It is unknown to what extent we change but there will always be change. Our lives are so fragile we cannot comprehend because we are locked inside a state of time and body that awaits its release from this prison we call Earth to some sort of divine force.

When our world flourished with humanity there was change. Before it there was change. But whether if it will all fall before us or it grows in favor of our humane desires, there will still be change.

Personally, I see this change as truth, which we have very little access to but yearn to understand.

I don't have the answers, but I will tell you that there is no reason to believe every fact that you are given. Perhaps those who have believed will suffer the consequences of realization. Truth is not always easy to endure, and the ways of our brains proves it.

There is truth in everything that may be out of the detection of our human senses or in some cases held back from us either for our protection or for another's profit.

The Greek word for Apocalypse is "an unveiling." It is not the end of the world but an affection of our times. This change will bring much truth to our lives and our history. If we live to experience it, but who am I to say that death is not enlightening?

Remember that people have followed lies continuously throughout human history. Truth is change.

Basically everything electronic on the planet Earth will become useless, and we may lost electricity for quite some time. But there is no way to know how it will affect us or for how long. Earth isn't going anywhere, but there may be mass chaos. I have a plan, and it involves being armed, and ready to live off the land. I said I don't have the answers for 2012.

Population explosions, mass industrial progression, war, intelligence, manipulation. These are many of the few ways we have changed. It's not hard to understand.

Death is change, isn't it? Especially on a large scale. If not death, it could be for good or for worse.

I believe an important matter to keep at hand is the possibility of UFO relations to 2012. What is peculiar is this issue has been becoming more and more popular as time progresses, especially bringing up UFO sightings during presidential debates, as more U.S. government officials and pilots are urging our government to release information relating to a subject that has been guarded from us.

I'm no alien fanatic, but I do believe that this is a subject to be considered. If there are aliens, what would they do? Save us? Destroy us? Control us? Observe us or watch us die so they can take planet Earth?

The mayans didn't say the world was going to end in 2012, they said it would change.

We'll just have to wait and see...

YES! ...they predicted these cycles and on every cycle something happens in the world that changes it....maybe a 5th dimension ...ever heard of Terence Mckenna, that is some trippy ass shit that guy talks about.

some beileive that on 2012 there is going to be some huge change happening, and people see that as the end of the world. I feel though that 2012 will be the date cannabis is legalized in the USA. lets just hope im right:)

It's the ultimate movie for the horror-film freak.

The World is getting more spiritual and, if Sylvia Brown says that, "in ten to fifteen years, we'll be speaking to the dead like they're standing right next to us", then, I don't know. I do believe that Nostradamus had further predictions. I have predicted that I will see the age of forty.

It means that the MAGNETIC poles are going to flip. Your compass will point in the opposite direction. The time (several decades?) it takes for them to flip will be very dangerous because we won't have any protection from solar radiation.

Its all bullshit scientifically the world will end when the sun burns out which is in about 5 billion years thank god we wont be around then could you just imagine the end of the world each day getting worse and worse???

But i think by that time 5 billion years later technology will be so advanced that somehow they would come up with some sort of replacement for the sun lol.

i think humans will be extinct long before the sun burns out. and in that case, the planet will still be hear, there just wont be anything living on it.

Are aliens REAL?

Yes the aliens were all killed and their ghosts were sucked up by a big vacuum cleaner and freeze dried. Later they were loaded onto space going DC-9's and deposited inside a volcano on Earth.

I'm pretty stoned mind you, but I was wondering if the apocalypse will be the change in mood of the people. We are beginning to see it, food and gas prices, taxes, weather, political and media fraudulence, economic chaos, and people only have their own mental limitations.

Generations are getting aggressive and dumbed, undetermined contempt for the television.

It's possible... I mean there are a whole bunch of spots up north and in Alaska where glaciers once existed even 10 years ago but have melted, revealing dry beds of silt with new plants growing. If the world ends in 2012, then so be it. :p

I'll just hop in my spaceship, blast off, and start a new life. :stoned:
