I do, and I have for a few days now. John decided it was time and got the boxes out for me. So for the last few days I've been hanging up lights in our bedroom and other rooms (around the top of the room and the windows) and we bought a new white x-mas tree at Walmart (not my choice to pick white). So I decorated that too.
I guess i'm in the holiday spirirt pretty deep already.
Anyone else?

tomorrow is when we will put everything up, we usually do after Thanksgiving but it's going to be a quiet one here, I love the holiday season/spirit.

I just got a new tree yesterday, got tired of the cost, mess and hassle of a "real" tree. This year I am trying to be a bit more ecologically "green", so I did the artificial thing. Got it pre-lit, and my GF is gonna decorate it.... it helps that she is a floral designer.
I got a 30 foot tree in the front yard that I am gonna light this year.... I figure 2 cases of 100 light strings, and rent a man-lift for a day, will do the job.

My mother always said it was "tacky" to put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving was over, so I always wait. (my mother also told me how "tacky" I was, for leaving my decorations up until April one year, lol)
Not that I necessarily agree with her on the issue, I see many people with them up already, but even if I wanted to, I haven't had the time yet. Will try to get it done before the 1st week of Dec.
I dont normally bother untill a few days before christmas. I only have a small tree. I dont need a big one haha! I dont get any presents for it anyway. I leave it up untill like a week into january or something.

the lights are coming up and the tree is a bit later. We've got too many lights and stuff to put up in one day. Most of the roof lights are done finally and its time to start moving over to the lawn area. Yep, you'll be able to see it from SPACE.....

Lol it's not even december yet...
Having said that, i won't be having many lights, if any at all, or a big tree, our family has a mini tree that we always use. We don't go over the top.

We always put up our outside lights the first Saturday in December. Our inside decorations don't get hauled out and strewn about until the weekend before Christmas. We take down all the decorations the first weekend in January.

My lights go up when i finally get round to getting a tree and finding all the decorations, which is usually about a week before christmas.

Xmas trees are meant to go up 10 days before xmas and come down 10 days after, don't know why but my wife allways abide to that, if it was down to me i'd leave them up all year round, i have only seen one house this year so far with decorations up.

We got the boxes out today and will put stuff up tomorrow. I don't like to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving's over, either. Tomorrow we'll get the trees decorated and string the lights and bows on the banister, put the wreath out. We have never done elaborate outdoor house lights in this neighborhood, but this year we have a big lighted wreath that'll go up on the second story in a prominent position.
Does anyone else find taking it all down after the holiday's over a depressing task? I do.

Yes, it always reminds me that the season is over, and I can no longer justify snow as making a white Christmas, of course last year we didn't get snow until Jan when I was taking down the decorations, wish that was a regular thing for upstate NY.
Taking down the decorations is the final nail in the coffin for me, it says the holiday is over and we have to wait another year.

I always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Last year I broke down and got a 3-foot fake tree because:
-Putting up a real one by yourself sucks
-Wrestling a real tree up 2 flights of stairs alone sucks
-I have to keep my tree up on a sideboard because my dog gets so wild and runs around the living room crazily
-I always for get to water trees
So that, and the other couple fake trees that I 'plant' in my flower beds are coming out of the cellar this weekend, and the 50 feet or so of lighted garland (if it still works and I can untangle it) is as well.
I love the smell of real spruce, but the smell of pot that fills my house is all right, I guess...

How sweet would it be to have an 8 foot sativa for a Christmas tree? Christmas morning and everybody gets scissors to chop off their presents. Then it's turkey time! :D

Yes. I also see the irony in it. My actual houseplants are of the indestructible variety for that reason: Rubber trees, philodendron, zygo cactus, and mother-in-laws-tongue. They are the only ones I can't kill by neglect. :D
