I keep having dreams (up to 5 now) in which the main element is my dad (who I am VERY VERY close to) keeps being sentenced to hang for a non-violent and even petty crimes; stealing a computer, tax evasion, bank robbery, and even jay-walking. Each time, I do not watch the process- I think even in my dreams, the sight of my dad hanging would really effect me in waking life, seeing as how it is already.

It's really disturbing, and I was wondering what people know about recurring elements in dreams? Have you had similar experiences?

yeah actually, for 2 or so years after my brother was killed i kept having the same type of dream almost every single night... i'm just out of reach or just a few seconds to slow to save him... i always manage to get close enough to him just to watch him die again....

the only other dream i was having at the time was my wife cheating on me or leaving me for someone else.... those types of dreams were almost always followed by a fight we had... guess it was my minds way of showing me how i would feel without her around....

I don't really have reoccuring dreams, but I have dreams that are linked to other dreams from the past, sometimes even from when I was little. I have trouble remembering it all when I'm awake, but it clicks when I'm dreaming. It's like a TV show, with continuing episodes almost, pretty weird really.

Cool, I had a dream once I was spiderman, or I had spiderman powers like that, flying through a city scape from building to building. I think flying dreams are related to astral projection as well. I have these flying dreams every so often I fucking love them. Have you had the ability to walk through walls dream? I had that once I could walk through walls like the guy in Heroes, I could feel inertia of the matter and i had to force my way through. That was a one real trippy dream that was.

Yes, the spider man dreams, i swing from building to building with my webs! haha i might have passed you once. lol.
I've never been able to walk through walls but Ive been able to play quidditch, and cast spells and magical stuff like that.

I also dream of being an in army and defending the innocence, whether it be by shooting down aliens, monsters or unknown creatures. Shooting is the fun part! Those dreams occur very often and I find those dreams the most fun!

That reminds me of swimming dreams..

I've had dreams of swimming in the ocean for so long without catching my breath at the surface, that I'd become lucid just at the mere fact that I had the ability to breathe underwater... great reality check for me

Yeah, I had a great lucid dream once; I was walking in the woods, and went into the deep stream below a waterfall, and I could breathe underwater, and everything was clear and beautiful. I loved that dream.

Yes to the breathing underwater dream, had that many times as well. It's not as good as the flying ones though.
