They each have five colas starting and 5 secondary under the growth that we are going to make clones out of. The tops are the only ones showing pistils yet. But as soon as we get the HPS hung and switch it to 12/12, it'll be off like a prom dress.

Wow, nice looking healthy plants. They look surprisingly similar to my AK-47. Hmmm, similar genetics perhaps...

So what is the story with the 48? I assume it shares genes somehow with AK-47, anyone know how much and what the differences are?

The Ak48 is some sort of special sativa/Indica hybrid. It is nice because it retains it's indica nature when growing (fast (48 days), big yield), but it retains it sativa nature in the smoke quality (head buzz, giggles). I think AK's, no matter which exact strain are my absolute favorite.

But I think the actual genetics of AK48 are..

AK47 (f) + Speedy Queen (m) = Ak48 (I think this is what I remember being told in the email. I'll email the guy again to see what it is for sure.

Looks like clones are getting cut today. Pictures should be up tonight of the adjustable humidity clone dome I created.

Ballin!

Thanks jon, that's interesting.

They are gorgeous plants and just starting to show sex. Here's the veg room and a picture of the flowering light with the Filterfan system I built. As soon as we get the light hung, it'll be off to the flowering room for these two girls.

We're also running basic on the ph scale, which tends to give us more females. These are the second plants we've done like this and they've all (4) came out female! The last batch was tasety and I'm hoping the seedlings are female to, that would be six and then I would know basic ph growing gives you females... or I'm just really lucky... We're going to go back to more acidic soil for flowering because the buds taste better, and the females won't change back.

That's pretty cool with the fan and the light. I was wondering exactly how it works. Is it filtered for odor, and the glass will be off the hood, and it sucks air past the bulb and out the fan. Or does it blow into the light?

Also if it were me, I would want some reflectors on those CFL. You are probably getting a lot of light wasted, going out the sides and even up. I'm guessing it would double the light reaching the plants, but who knows. I don't think anyone has found out yet what the shape of the light intensity is for CFL.

cut out a beer can or any aluminum can on both ends and place the can over the cfl and point the now redirected light downward at the crops. seems to work for other people. seein how the light dosent get too too hot it would seem to work out:greenthumb: :rastasmoke:

The light is a 400w HPS and the fan system is two muffin fans blowing out from the light. There is ducting connected to the fan and that is ushered out of the room. We also have a fan bring air in. The fan system actually cools the light a little bit so we can put it closer to the plants.

And as for the cfl reflectors, we had some homemade ones, but they were more trouble than they were worth (and we were still getting good growth without them). But that is a good idea with the pop cans. I'm working on getting a 150 watt hps to run 18/6 in the veg room. It only gonna be fifty bucks and that should cover a couple small plants and the seedlings can have the cfls.

We clipped clones of the girls today. I got 4 off each and we're gonna do more right before the photoperiod change (in about 2 weeks). We set up the clone dome and everything and it is working awesome. Humidity hovers around 95% and the perlite keeps everything up to par.

You can see how big the females are getting.
