Salt is the number 1 spice used in the US...and it beats the pants off number 2.
I use both pepper and salt either by themselves or alone depending upon what im making/eating.

I love pepper.. i put it on EVERYTHING. lots of it.. i use it more than salt. If I could use garlic in a shaker, it would take salt's place.

I heart pepper
use salt sparingly
ketchup profusely
and love it when cilantro, lemon, garlic or salsa grace my food
I think paprika is ugly
but cinnamon is pretty

I love salt. Crave it much more than I ever do sugar. My favorite junkiest food is high-salt, high-fat. I add salt to a lot of foods.
Dave thinks this is because I have blood pressure that almost scrapes the bottom of the barrel, meaning it's very low, and so my body craves salt so I'll retain more fluid and my BP might be a bit higher as a result. I don't care why I eat it. I just know I could easily live the rest of my life if someone took sugar away from me. But I'd probably die before noon tomorrow if someone took away my salt!
I love pepper, too. And lemon juice. And garlic. And Tabasco.

I am always amazed on how much salt people use..I always thought it was bad for you..I havent shook a salt shaker in over 10 years..but I cant live without pepper, also I eat at least one onion a day.

I never use pepper, only salt.
Pepper/s sucks and so does anything that makes you sweat when you eat it. Not me, thank you. I do not like to eat food that is spicy for two reasons, one is the taste {It is nastier that shit} and the 2nd reason is I do not like to burn my insides out especially my brown eye that gets lit up like the 4th of July if I eat peppers.
They are called JalapeƱos but I call them "Allupinya's" because they are a painful food to eat.

Damn, birdgirl, I crave salty stuff, too, and also have mild low blood pressure. And I've never had much of a sweet tooth, comes and goes. Learn something new every day! Thanks!

I use salt on almost anything, but I hate pepper.
I've never seen anyone use as much salt/pepper as my grandfather, he'll eat it w/ every meal and uses an insane amount.

i generally don't add salt, i always add ridiculous amount of black pepper.
I tend not to add salt. I like my pepper though! Actually, i think the only time i add salt to anything is when i eat raw celery. I like raw celery, but only dipped in salt. Otherwise i cant stand it.

I heard salt isn't a flavour, it's just a flavour enhancer. I like salt on chips/fries and pepper occasionally on my pasta, not too much though, i'm not trying to sneeze on my shit.

Salt is more important of a seasoning than pepper, but you don't need to add EXTRA salt to very many things, because so many prepared foods have too much salt in them already.
Salsa did not pass up salt, it passed up ketchup . Salsa and ketchup are both condiments. Salt and pepper are seasonings or spices, not condiments, so they compete in a different league.

I don't add salt to anything. I have never really liked the taste. I do use pepper, but ketchup is my favorite. Hate mayo, hate mustard, but have to have ketchup on everything.

God invented the potato after he realised how much people liked those two things, what an inspiration eh? I fucking love salt and pepper, but without something else to eat them with that's bigger and stops you feeling hungry, they are nothing but little grains of sand you can lick off the palm of your hand.
