i dont see why you can do it indefinibly....however, any plant weaknesses will pass from clone to clone, which is why they breed in nature to try and overcome that with many variations

From what I understand everyone is right, there will be no decrease in potency,but....One thing to keep in mind is the age of the clones/mother.When you cut a clone it takes on the age of the mother,ex.if your mother is 8 months old,the cutting is then 8 months old as well.Seeing how weed is an annual plant there probably is some sort of limitation as to how long one could keep taking cuttings and not run into some sort of problems.Take care,be well, and most of all be safe.

I've heard of people having mothers alive for years. I think what triggers the change in the plant where it decides it needs to hurry up and end its life cycle is the change of lighting. Certain ammounts of darkness cause hormones in the plant to change it to flowering mode, something like that. I know some annuals, like common garden stuff, have a lifespan determined by time, and putting them under 24/0 lighting won't cause them to "stay in veg", but with cannabis it needs that lighting change to undergo it's final flowering phase of its life.
