Cleaning sliders

So i have had this bong for a while and now the slider is just getting nasty and i wanna clean it. A friend of mine told me of this stuff Formula 420...does taht stuff work to clean sliders? if not what could i use?

I would put it in some boiling water. Or just use rubbing alcohol.

Use some rubbing alcohol/isopropanol alcohol, try to get the 99% stuff, and rinse it really well with salt. After a hard rinse with the iso/salt, rinse it out really, really well with very hot water, near boiling.

You can buy the alcohol at most drug stores/pharmacies for $4, for a decent sized bottle.
