Good morning folks I have read the build your grow room guide however I want to know what would be the best size system and possible strains to grow although my goal is "white widow". Here are my room dimensions: L9'xW7'6"xH6'6" I am concerned about the height is it essentially too low to run a HID system? I'm running on a budget $500-$750 for equipment and room set up. I've hunted the internet and I'm sure there are thousands more that I haven't seen. But now I've just confused the crap out of myself what can I say bulbs and ballasts and reflectors oh my, air exchangers and timers and nutrients and color spectrums and AAAAAHHHHHHH. Any real words of wisdom I could use is it possible to grow simply cheaply and indoors and discreetly. I now give the question to the experts and if the answers are on the forum please feel free to point me in the right direction.
Thank you

With the money that you have to spend, you have about enough for a on 1,000w set up. With a good reflector, a 1,000w light will cover a 4'x5' area. If you get a good 6" exhaust fan, for your second or third grow, when you have a few more bucks saved, you can then double the size of your grow by simply adding another light and hooking it into your existing vent system. The point is, you should make your system easily expandable so that you can ultimately take advantage of more of your available grow area.

As far as your height restrictions go, check out this thread.

Right now I'm doing some White Widows in a ScrOG with some pretty good results.

Well, that's my :twocents:

Good luck with your project!

I agree that if you want to make the best use of your available space, you'll seriously want to consider a 1000w HID. I just started using a 1000w digital MH/HPS system in an area slightly smaller than yours, and so far, I'm really enjoying it. Heat is not an issue, but I've also got good ventilation.

You can find a lighting system like mine for less than $300, ventilation and odor control can be constructed for very little if you can do the work yourself, and like Pharma had mentioned, you could easily upgrade to another light later and just have to minor modifications to your ventilation.

And the height of your area shouldn't be a limiting factor. You can use a screen, or stress train your WW's and keep them at a manageable height. Mine rarely got over 4 1/2" tall, and had great yields per square foot of space used. In fact, many of the buds needed to be supported because even the reinforced stem couldn't handle the weight.

Thanks for the help folks I had convinced myself thats the way to go 1000w but like I said earlier read too much information and just confused myself. I have a window to run my air through and a water supply just outside the door will be putting up mylar today and finding my light leaks and ordered the lights last night. Will keep you posted on the progress.
Thanks again for the advice
