how much longer can our planet sustain us?
are there any "plan b's" in case something happens or as a species are we just getting by day to day?
think about our rainforests...our oceans...our oxygen.
kinda scary.
i think we'll be ok for a few more decades honestly. sucks for those future generations though. our forefathers didnt think about us tho so why should we give two ^$%&#! about our future generations?
in closing...theres not too much we as poor broke stoners can really do or are really willing to do. my offical advice to solve this problem is to smoke a bowl.

I think in a thousand years life for humans won't be too different from the way it was about 20,000 years ago when everybody lived in hunter-gatherer societies, except there will be more radiation.

I think that solution holds water, Euph :D
Plan B?
Ha, it would be a nice idea, but where would we go?
We already know about the fragility of our existence - a few miles further away from the sun and we'd freeze, a few miles closer and we'd fry.
The Earth is a living breathing thing - if we continue to rape it's lands for our own needs (especially if we don't replace or ecosystem), then it stands to reason that the balance will be lost.
Volcanic activity, melting polar caps, and messed up weather, are just the results of the Earth trying to regain it's own balance...it was bound to happen, we know it's happening, and yet we still fail to agree that we must change our lifestyles on a global scale.
I'm no scientist, but even I can see that changes are taking place at a rapidly increasing rate - and I think that we are too far down the line to make any real difference to the process.
So, it seems that we are all doomed - maybe not in our life-time, but certainly in our future generation's life-time - but we shouldn't act so surprised. If an asteriod was gonna hit Earth within the next week, then we wouldn't know about it...what would be the point? lol
And really, would you wanna know?
How much notice would you like?
I mean, imagine if we all had 2 hours notice.
The chances of any of us reaching our loved ones in time, would be pretty minimal (everybody else is gonna be trying to do the same), and I'm not sure that I could handle the despair of not being able to reach them, you know? :o
I think I'd rather be ignorant of it...just PAF!!..and gone...
If we are to do anything, then I would imagine that we'd have to get our skates on pretty sharpish - and let's face it, whilst there is price on the exercise, I can't imagine that we're gonna see action anytime soon...

The whole world is addicted to oil :(
If there was a cheap and effective way to extract hydrogen from water we would be saved, but i dosnt look like thats going to happen soon.

Did you know there is a way to make a fuel that is cleaner-burning and more cost efficient than gasoline out of hemp? One of the thousands of reasons for people to grow more cannabis. *Love to OverGrow.com*

Do you know in the artic there is an abosoutely massive (im talknig country size) piece of ice hangnig over the ocean than could drop in at any min and when it does msot of the northern hemisphere is fucked. Kinda makes you care less about the worrys of life.

Yeah well i have to a agree too, we look pretty fucked from here to a couple of centuries.
Global warming has skyrocketed over the past few years and the greenhouse effect wont just go away, it'll get worse and worse. And that earthquake in asia fucked us up even more, it knocked the earth off its axis, therefore making it even more prompt to receive heat and increase the chances of global warming.
And yeah, those huge polar ice caps right up my ass to the north here ( cuzz i live in mtl, so im pretty concerned), they will eventually melt as they are melting now if some changes for the better don't happen soon. Because from so i've heard, ( i watch the discovery channel, news, talk to ppl) if those shitty frozen picks of ice melt, there WONT BE A MTL!!!! ( i wont have a home :() since the water level will rise up.
Well there isn't much we can do, and yeah it does suck for future generations, i better stock up a few grams if something bad does happen ^ ^. We could always make different cars, but they still would use up a lot of gasoline, and that still woudn't be enough. On top of that, there are more and more trees cut down, so even less O2 ( oxygen) produced, and more CO2( carnbon dioxyde, what is produced as garbage from explosions and is the main greenhouse effect criminal) so it screws us even further

Its very simple, once the planet cant sustain our population, it will be reduced (naturally or artificially) to a sustainable number.

"We already know about the fragility of our existence - a few miles further away from the sun and we'd freeze, a few miles closer and we'd fry."- QUOTE-resinate
-actually thats not right....bc it depends ont he atmosphere of the place we would be inhabiting......the same reason that venus (2nd from sun) is a shit ton hotter than mercury (clostest to sun).
what is the space station going to be used for??? how many people can they inhabit?? would we have to make trips to the earth and other places for resources. i dontthin there is any way we could all go in a bunch of huge ass space stations and manage to live......so i basically think we're fucked unless we find a way to travel really fucking fast.....and also we might not get that far due to environmental disasters also at threat over a period of many years. i think mother nature or some event like that (meteor, global warming, etc) will ruin the earth before we are all out of resources and whatever....or jsut some asshole terrorist decides to blowup the world....starting with the US. stoned and rambling sorry.

Honestly i think about that kiind of thing all the time.Even when i was a kid things were so much different. We could actually swim in the rivers and creeks around here and they were cool we all did it.There is no way that kids can do that now as they are more like a breeding ground for diseases or full of pollution its not good.Really there are not many pristine places left in the world but there still are some that have not really been effected by pollution or the environment and these are the places we need to keep like that.Luckily some beautiful parts of australia especially the rainforests and animals are protected. We are not even allowed to light fires here in the backyard anymore,we have water restrictions so people dont waste water.Every house in aus has large recycling bin we are the most environmentally consious country in the world apparently.

recycling isnt the godsend its cracked up to be though. you can quickly use more water and oil collecting and processing waste than making new materials. there are now two big trucks that collect bins every week.ive about read a heap of stuff that is better to discard and remake than recycle.
everyone can do lots. use less. buy less garbage. grow as much food as you are able. use the sun and breeze, not growlights and fans haha.
though your small contributions- or lack of contributions as th case may be with garbage and pollution, may not change much, at least as you sit back and enjoy that bowl u can have a clean concience instead of a defeatist escapist stench.

No, dont think like that...just live your life happy and do something with it that is productive and enlightened. Fall in love, smoke some weed, mellow out. everything will be fine and you wont have to live in fear of dying.
