I truly beleive this now, despite years of not beleiving - I beleive it. And it hurts me to read so much oposition to god in general.

If not beleiving in god, a person at least should have spirituality, a curtain connectedness with other people and the world. If you haven't experienced this I encourage you to read about gandhi's phylosphies. I encourage you to take on the practices of fasting and daily meditation. I'm suprised there aren't more spiritual people on this forum.

So if u have experienced spirituality in any way I'd like you to share it here. so other people might benifit...

Im happy for you that you had a religious experience or something to that extent, just be sure to experience religion for what it SHOULD be, not what modern day society has perverted it into.

i dont think its so much opposition to god as it is opposition to the church. people in general are gettin fed up with the church demonizing the truth and persacuting those who try and teach the truth. several hundred years ago it was the earth is flat. now we know beyond a shaow of a doubt that is wrong but the church persacuted people for teaching that because it went against ther doctrine. now a days it evolution.

the truth is god, but this truth is unatainable by the human mind. what 'god' is, is undefinable. so whilst the truth maybe god, god is not the truth.

sorry that really should be the notion of god is not the truth or a least the idealistic and rehtorical view of od impossed by any written words of god. instead the notion of god is something that has to be felt and attained by an individual. not just convinced or brainwashed into

please people. this isn't a place to endlessly debate about god.

it's spirituality... and by that i mean anything that has made you feel whole... gotten u closer to self actualization, or more in tune with urself.

for me it was a time i danced all night. it was a drumming circle with some of my closest friends. i never danced so hard, sweating and everything. all of a sudden i realized that life is about these moments. moments of peace and happyness, together with family... those guys were my family. this feeling overpowered me. i began to cry. dancing and crying dancing and crying.

my friends put there arms around me while we kept dancing. they started crying. it was so beautiful. a bunch of guys all balling our eyes out and dancing together while we sang. i cryed so hard i could barely stand, yet my friends kept me up.

finally we were all crying, unable to dance. just standing there with our arms around each other... my head barried into a guys chest i barely knew before that night. the drumming calmed to a steady beat while the lead drummer started singing about a little boy finding his way

i know this sounds rediculous, but that night i literaly cried for hours. i was happy, but sad that that moment wouldnt last

Perhaps you shouldn't have included god in the threads name? Perhaps "Spirituality is truth" would have been a bit more appropriate?

It just doesnt matter.. there is no such thing as truth.. truth is a perception of externally tangible concepts that make sense to the individual.. there are so many concepts of god.. I dont know what god or spirituality is, but I know what it isnt.. and I know that there is some kind of transcendant being that is god.. yet I dont think I'm concious enough to understand the concept of what god is.. it just is.. the only proof you need is your life.. the very fact we are here observing reality is proof of god and or spirituality.. we have a much too linear concept of god these days.. we are the creators of our lives, thats all we need to know.. any religious belief beyond that is simply speculation..

/\/\/\ greenhornergrower. that is a wikid post. it is the intangible I. that transcends reality into the metaphysical and runs tangent to reality and time. through this we experience reality through its perception and its wisdom. the trouble is people who are very early brainwashed into a linear thinking and way of viewing god. often have no concept of this and are not even aware of this existence of themselves or infact and more importantly others. which is where all the confusion, pain, anger and intollerance that comes from people defending their ideas of god and their 'faith' happen. you are an enlighten individual.
