Ok, so since my caramella turned out to be male, i'm going to breed them. Since i havent seen any log for breeding.....i'm gonna do one here. Right now i have clones rooting and once they are set i will be sending them directly into flower. I will be constructing a bubble breeder with dome so that i can have this in my flower room and not get the others crossed. So this should be an interesting one, we are gonna go from clone, to cross, to seed pop'n then to flower again and see how the cross took. Any questions or suggestions are always welcome.
I will be taking some pics of the plants that i will be crossing, most likely this will turn into more than just the crossing of two strains, but more like a few at once. I have Afg dream, sour bubble, and a toxic lemon, plus there are about 5 other strains that are unknown that can be crossed with it.
Stay tuned for eye candy......

sounds cool, but its impractical and will negativly affect the yields IMO

sounds really interesting to me, and although breeding has been one of my biggest fascinations, I think I've read the least about it than ANY other topic on cannabis. Will SURELY like to hear the differences and see if you can catch subtle variations in ANY aspect of the different plants.

Why will it negativly affect the yields ???
I have done breeding many times and it is a cool thing ,bcuz you'll get some nice plants which are already adapted to the climate where you live, they are more resistant....

well by spending almost no time in veg, and 9 weeks in flower, your missing out on the huge amounts of growth that just one or two weeks of veg would add to a plant.

KB when your goal is seeds you look at bud weight yield just a little differently.
This should be a really neat experiment for a hobby-level grower who doesn't have cashcropping as a priority.

The purpose of the first flower is not for yield, per se, its more for getting the cross of the strains that i want and have that small plant produce seeds only. I am not looking for any smokable product out of the first run. If i were to flower these for longer i would get a crap load of seeds and i dont want that, i only want a few seeds that i can then grow out and select the strongest of that group and then cross them. This is all part of making a stable strain. The more you can cross it back the more the genetics will be solid. Alot of people have actually produced seeds, but they think they are bad. In a sense seeds are bad for those who only want the smokable product.
Thanks everyone who has been posting, this is going to be alot of fun, and i will be posting alot of eye candy during the process.

I have been growing for many years ,and there where years when i had no access to quality bagseeds or clones, and i planted the seeds form my last years plants. And those plants where just as good as any other quality weed....

Not for nothing Klondike, but the title has "breeding" in the title....not sure how one could miss it, and then in the first paragraph, i mentioned that the first run would be for seeds only.......not sure how one could miss it but hey, to each their own.
So, i have placed the clones from the mothers in my small little DWC breeding box to get some stable roots for a week or so and then they will be off to the flower room. The males will come along to join the females in about 2 weeks or so. With any luck, i could have some seeds around the first of the year with the new crossings, maybe sooner, we'll see how this goes.
One of the reasons i am keeping this a small cross is that in order to find the best genetics i need to grow out ALL the seeds from each mother, then select the best from that group and trash (actually i'll just flower the females and toss the males) the rest, then start the crossing again to lock down the genetics. The first run will most likely be a clone only since they wont be all that stable yet. Those who know me know that if a plant can make it thru my veg and flower its a pretty damn strong strain....... When the new clones are ready for the flower room i will take some pics and post, but thought i would give everyone a quick update on where things are at the moment........
As always, comments, questions, suggestions are always welcome and encouraged.... really, dont be shy to post.....

Breeding fascinates me a lot. Though it takes SOOO much time and I'm a really impatient person. I will definately keep checking this thread, though it's going to take ages :<
Can anyone point me to a similar, already completed thread like this?
Much <3 and good luck with the breeding :)
Will keep stopping by!

I am currently germinating seeds form a plant which lived 3 years ago...
That plants seeds came form a Dutch Passion's Trance which i was growing back in 2002...
So this is the 3rd generation which i am germinating, its changing a lil bit but it is still a great strain...
