is it possible to grow with 3 18w cfls..my plant is 3 weeks in and dont even look like a normal plant would look at 2 weeks.the leaves are not fully developing before new growth starts on new leaves..i know i need more light but how many 18w cfls should i use to have enought light..the grow space is a pot in a 10gal fish tank with a cardboard top with the lights going straght down.lights are about 2 inches away from plant.

MJ is not a terrarium plant. It needs lots of air circulation. I'd suggest you read up on "Rubbermaid" grow info. You'll find lots of good stuff about growing in a small space.

Good luck!

no ventilation could be 1 problem

need a reflecting source would help alot too

to grow afew small plants 6-8 clfs should be efficient enough, just make sure you have a good reflecting source and good ventilation and the right kelvin spectra

ventalation is fine and i have thick white paper covering all the glass of the tank to keep the light in. the top is also a reflective white.

not a good pic but its all i got
so 3 18w cfl should be enought to only grow one plant in veg.?
the 3 lights also have a reflective shield to reflect the light downwards

you should be good there with plenty of ventilation

next look at the genetics, is it bag or bought
it could a male. males alot of times can grow legnthy and skinny with real long internodes legnths and awhole lot fewer leaves

its bagseed from a herm.seems to have growth but in a short bushy way..is this because of the strain or is it beacuse the leaves arent developing right because of not enough light?can i grow one plant in a 1x1 space with 3 18w cfl ???

well 18w 2700k lights dont help..moved it to a 2x2 cabinet lined with foiltape then switched out the 3cfls for 3 26w 6500k cfls.plant started rapid growth and is doing alot better.although its leaves are very bushy more hotizontal growth than vertical..lights are about 2.5 inches away.

I don't see why you couldn't flower now if you want. Try to get 26W 2700K CFLs for flowering, but it will work with the 6500K as well.

As for the future, make sure you fill the pot up to the brim with soil. This will get you the best airflow at the bottom of you plant. As it is now, air can "settle" in the bottom.
