I took some nice pics and wanted to share. These seeds were planted this last Sunday around 9 a.m. Before church.
Anyone ever had a good outcome with a whorled phyllotaxy.

Ha ha, made me laugh. I've never had one of those but I know that several people around here have. Do you know what strain?

Strain, don't make me cry. These seeds came from a bag of herb grown in mexico. You boys like Mexico!

Have come across them in both indica, sativa (and even hybrids) every once in a while. Swazi, and Inca Spirit and C-99xSweet Tooth are a few I can remember doing this.
If grown without fimming or topping, no noticible difference in stretch, volume, taste or effects.
Would be nice if it produced 50% more bud, but seems to average the same dry-weight as other plants from the same seed stock. I does switch to alternating nodes, just like it's 'normal' siblings after the 6th or 7th internode.
Would most likely be great for SOG.
Since I know (a little) more about breeding, the next one I come across, I want to stress with aspirin to get some fem seeds. (I've used the aspirin technique quite often with great success)
Would be interested in what happens to the strain.

I've got some papayas doing that. That Nirvana papaya line seems to carry that trait; I've gotten several.

I have had a few of those. Sometimes they seem to correct themselves as they get bigger, but they don't have any problems and are about the same as regular plants as far as growth rates and such.

Yup, I keep moms of my whorled Papaya, Daddy's Girl (3 of my DGs showed it), and Space Queen. All appear to have grown out of it at the onset of alternating nodes, however. Makes me wonder- anyone remember that dude who wanted 10,000 bucks for clones of his 3-fer? He even spammed here a couple times. I want to know if that plant still showed whorling in maturity.

I had one lowryder plant that ended up being male. I had a Satori-Hashberry cross that produced a very nice female. It eventually corrected itself.
I also had a cucumber plant once that did that as well to no ill effect. No, that's not a strain of weed, it was an actual cucumber.

that's something for me to note, I've had a few whorled leaves before, but never on my NorCal Daddy's Girls ... sounds kinky ;)

I have one of these three leaf wonders in the third week of veg now. It's at the forth or fifth node and still producing sets of three fan leaves. It came from some california red bud seeds I had saved form several years ago. I'll keep it going and see if it straightens itself out.

This one is in my current grow, it's got something like 8-9 nodes and it's still doing it. Looks cool!:D

I have a plant right now that isn't the same as the one featured here... but it never even grew a first node, it grew up and split in two just like it was topped. I've been tying it down in a very interesting pattern because of this behavior. I have yet to put it into flowering though, since I've been having fun playing with it in veg haha.
In fact I got a batch of seeds that have a lot of mutants.. I grew a couple recently and they're either still in veg or just starting flower, and I just planted a bunch more of them because I wanna see what sort of interesting creatures I get. Let me know if you'd like some pictures. I have an 8 or so day old seedling that might actually be the whirling porpus you guys are talking about haha, I suppose I'll know soon enough, its definitely popping up awkwardly with 3 leaves. Let me know if you'd like some pictures of these things.

Actually, I posted about the plant that appears to have topped itself on the first node, and included some pictures. These are old pictures from when she was young but they're definitely clear, and its clear that it wasn't a top by me.
