I want to know how accurate the First Check kits are from CVS.
Just wanna say I'm glad I found this place. I tried asking the same question on a general community forum and a bunch of self-righteous straight-edgers pounced on me with their holier-than-thou attitudes with such stellar advice as "this is why the world is screwed up n/t" and "shouldn't have smoked in the first place, pothead!." Yikes! The one or two people who did take my question seriously gave me the stock "it'll take 30 days. You're screwed" answer, which even I know is wrong. People can really be ignorant.
Anyway, enough of that. First a little background. I used to smoke heavily back in the day (what the establishment would call a "stoner"). But now I only smoke maybe twice a month. I haven't smoked on a regular basis in years. I smoked two J's last saturday and found out yesterday that my job is doing a drug test next monday. That would give me a 9 day window from the time I last smoked and the time of the test, and a 6 day window (starting yesterday) from the time I found out I have a test to really trying to cleanse my system. Been drinking tons of crannberry juice, etc.
Now I have two questions... First, I panicked and wanted to see if one of those home testing-kits that crappy parents give their kids, would turn up anything. I did everything right. I got something called First Check. Negative, it read. :) I administered this test to myself 3 days after the last toke. That has to be a good sign regardless, but would the test at the hospital be any different or more accurate?
Second, (this is really a 2 part question) I've resigned myself to the fact that if they do a hair test I'm pretty much screwed. If I smoked last saturday and again three weeks ago, but besides that not at all recently, will there be enough stuff in my hair to pass the cut-off level I hear about? Also, how common are these hair tests nowadays? I see a lot of posts here about them, but is it something that most places are doing nowadays?
I'm pretty much guessing that if they do a urine test, I'll be fine and if they do a hair test, I'm done. Anyway whatever your answers are, I'm sure you'll be a lot more helpful than those other wankers! :D
