there are built in jumpers, up i believe is on, down is off, 15 minute increments and there is a switch on the side to turn on manually

we have one of those on our grow and our coffee

we turn the dial, take the pegs out to change the time setting

they look complicated but dont let that friten ya!

just plug your item directly into the timer should be on the side, the time is set by the pegs,
what time of day you wish for it come on and go off,

good luck~~

Buy a digital one, they're easier to use. Cheaper ones can be had for around $10 and the more expensive, multi-event ones for about $20. They are more accurate, more reliable, and more resistant to accidental (and unwanted) time changes.

why buy a digital?

i got a perfectly good one for .99$ at beginning of the grow.

theyre usually in 15min increments and can be set by eith pushing/pulling, raising/lowering the pegs. mine you add up to 4 pegs for on and off because as it rotates the pegs trigger one of 2 switches (switches height corresponds to hight of lump on peg)
