I was just wondering how much it usually runs for some hash and what incriments it is usually sold in? There really isnt too much has in my area and when I go to festivals I always want to buy some but I dont want to get ripped because Ive never bought any. Also any things I should look for or do to make sure its good hash? Thanks for any answers/advice because the only thing close I can smoke is kief which is close but I would like to experience some good bubble hash.

Around here it usually goes for about $20/gram. The stuff I usually get is black and pliable, like opium almost. I've bought probably 4 grams in the past few weeks, and it's great because you only need a little bit to get you BAKED(I usually break off pieces the size of a BB pellet and flatten it out, and after two or three of those...:stoned:). 1 gram usually lasts me about 4 days, smoking twice a day on average. If you can find it, I'd say give it a try.

Here the price is much cheaper. But some good advice:
* The harder the better
* the darker, the better (darkbrown)
* when you want to crumble/grind it: heat it a bit, be sure the hash don't light up or turn black (burnt hash). Just heat a bit so it will get pliable. Then you can crumble it nicely.
I've never tried bubble hash, so I can't say a thing about that
But I love to smoke hash together with some greens :stoned:

forget about the weight, if its good hash you won't get much atall - but what you do get will get u roaringly stoned. Be warry of huge black slabs from shady characters, its probably mostly plastic.
Expect to get a piece of hash the size of 2 pieces of wrigleys extra chewing gum for what you'd pay for an eighth.

yeah, 20$-30$ depending on quality. im pretty sure though that the whiter it is, the more trichromes and less plant material there is

So I should look to pay 20 for a gram and look for green to light almost white? I know not to buy black stuff, one of my older friends had some "hash" once and I'm pretty sure it was just resin.

Yo, hash is not green. The darker it is, typically it will be better. Jet black hash however is either way too potent for most people, or it's not hash anyway. Hash is a tough thing to come by in the states but I can vouch for a few European countries like France and Italy. This summer I had the pleasure of sampling many kinds of hash from both countries in numerous cities. Overall what I noticed was that the best product was coming from organized dealers who had a safe spot to buy/sell. Second, the best hash was very dark but still brown. Third, you should never pay more than 25 dollars a gram (about the size of two sugar cubes stuck together). Hash is certainly something to try if you are into cannabis. Good luck on your search and happy toking!

huh? isnt white hash purer? ie: more thrichs?
if its baked solid tho, maybe that blackens it...?

Actually I have heard that recently. Some makers are producing white hash with considerably less plant material in it and more trichs, however, you can see a predicament as it would seem more pure, but most dealers dilute their stash and this is even easier to do with white powdery substances. Long story short, quality ultimately depends on purity, which is often incredibly hard to measure, therefore one can assume the fresher the product the more pure it is. I've read that fresher product is often softer, more pliable than baked, old hash.

i know all about hash. its awesome.
there are a few ways to make hash. hash is always made with the "crystals" of the weed plant, i believe they are also known as trichomes.
these trichomes contain resins and actual liquid. this liquid contains "thc".
so when a person makes hash, they are either trying to group up these liquind containing crystals, or are actually trying to break them oven and collect the resins.
here we go-
they have something that is called black hash. this hash is made purely from the plant resins in liquid form. in other words, it would be like squeezing keif for liquid resins, and then those resins harden turning black with oxidizaztion. it is also known as "hand rubbed".
then you have kief that has been compressed or bonded in some way. these methods include just high pressure, like with a hydrolic press, pressure and heat to the keif, or just heat mixed with oils.
hash is very costly to make, and thus is usually very pricey. if you have the money, i suggest you get some.
when purchasing hash-
um.... like i mentioned, the real black gooey stuff is probabally hand rubbed, but it might be hash oil or keif mixed with oil and cooked at high heat. ask the person.
then yo have green hash, brown hash, and yellowish hash.
its kind of hard to describe..... try to get the freshest hash they have. i dont know where you are going....or how they make hash, but like people form india/the middle east bring in chocolate hash.....
the hash world is very complex. some hashes are mixed with high amounts of opium and sometimes even herion. its all black and very hard. very difficult to break up and smoke.
if you ask me, th best hash to get is the stuff that looks the prettiest, or if its the black kind, only get hand rubbed blakc hash. anly accept hand rubbed when it comes to blakc hash.
but as for like compressed keif, get the stuff that is the prettiest and smells the strongests and is reasonably pliable and manageable in your hand.
some really good hash is like brown sugar, thats good stuff, but other stuff was more like.... kind of like rock candy in a way. kind of pliable, but pretty hard.
i dont know. get the best stuff!

Wrong. There are different types from various regions, but generally.. good hash can crumble just by igniting a lighter next to it, not even on it . With common moroccan(found in most of Europe) the darker the worse it actually is, a light brown inside indicates quality, with a very dark inside representing soapbar.
Lighter hash is produced in places like Lebanon and Pakistan and I have never smoked nor can comment on those types. If it's at a festival in the US chances are it's bubble hash, and I can't speak on that, either. It'll be good, though, and don't pay more than 30 a gram, you should get it for 25 though

If you've never smoked bubble hash your missing out..I buy it in bulk as an unpressed powder wich is really light blonde....wich goes to show darker is not always better.(bubble hash is a lot better then any dark hash i've smoked)

Couldn't help but add my two cents worth , being from Scotland iv'e had almost zero else but hash over the years , in my own best short answer estimation its a matter of smelling it. If it smells like something you wouldnt mind smoking its going to be good.
Ive seen blonde to black hash and a thousand varients but never white hash ..the green hash i almost understand and believe ive come across a hash you could call green at a push.
Best ive had was called spiderweb which was black with white lines so there may be something to the white hash thing.
Prices over there are $80-$100 an oz for standard to good soapbar/morrocan and its worth repeating you'll always know decent hash by the smell.

I bought 63 grams of hash a couple weeks ago now for 250 sterling. It's still going strong =]

very confused here....
a few people have said not to pay more than 20 or 30 a gram. In most of the US, seedless dank usually goes for $50 an eighth, but the less one purchases, the higher the price. Even though an eighth of dank is $50, a gram is likely to be $20
So wouldn't one expect to pay much more than $20 a gram for hash, as even the crappiest hash is better than the best weed (so says high times and they are on top of da game)
Someone said $80-100 for an OUNCE of hash... Even bad weed is at least $80 an ounce...
I have heard of hash more commonly going for $45-65 a gram depending on quality... which seems more accurate, especially when equated to weed prices.
63 grams of hash? even if one found this magical hash man who sells for only $20 a gram.... thats quite a bit o change....

melodious-
their prices are european. the european hash market is much more vigorous then ours, and plus their economy is better.
good hash should go for between 45 and 65 a gram, like you said, here in the u.s. thats rights.
those other guys are speaking about prices in europe.
if you ask me.... the medical weed strains and culture in california offers even better weed then in amsterdam! ( i know that might get some arguments) ;)
european hash culture is way diferent from u.s. hash culture. u.s. hash culture really dosent exist in a practical sense. people make hash, but there is not like a steady supply of bricked hash like in europe.
this is an area i have much interest in. i wish the hash culture in the u.s. would pick up! most people have smoked hash, but dont smoke it regularly.

Top quality types of hash like Nepalese Temple Balls, Tibetian Finger, etc., were priced at several hundred dollars an ounce in New York City over 25 years ago......if it's comes around now it'll likely be considerably more - probably twice what you'd pay for good weed.
I miss hash. Fortunately, some of the better weeds are reminiscent of it.

Well, around here it's 30-40 a gram for pressed Keif or yellow hash.
as for weed pricing, that ranges HUGELY.
Around here, it's 50-60/oz for good mids, 30-40 for crappy schwag, 125/quarter for really good dro. I get good mids for just over 35/oz though.
In the town where I grew up, $50/eigth for mids was the norm, $20/gram for Mids and when dro was around it was $20 for .7g. When I was in college my friend kepy carrying on about how he was getting an ounce for 90 and at the time it seemed great but now...
I do not miss that pricing but I do miss snow.

in my experience, darker, pliable hash is the most potent... The only hash I've ever smoked is bubble and I've had lots of differnt types from light tan conctrete-like rocks to extremely gooey black/dark brown chunks... the only real way to test hash is to smoke it (the longer it lasts, the better it is...also you want it to bubble/melt as much as possible...taste is also a factor)...
