I can't believe how lenient the Brit judiciary is becoming.
A few years ago a few of my mates were in the city when 3 local thugs armed with knives thought they could get away with robbing them, my friends fought back and one of my mates took a knife off one of the muggers.
In the skuffle that followed my best mate ended up stabbing one of the muggers, the mugger died but my mate got sent down for 2 years.I don't think he should even have been charged ,, it was pure self defence.
I can't believe a man who was only (IMO) defending himself gets two years and then you have this bitch who killed a child and she only gets 3 . WTF ???

Man, that's pretty messed up, psychocat. Sad to hear that your friend went to prison for 2 years for defending his own life, and others'. But I do think that someone who kills a child should be put to death... I guess. What reason does anyone have to kill a child anyway? People who do that are obviously fucked up mentally, and probably don't belong here. That's my opinion, at least.

Prisoners in the UK are pampered fuckers, they should be doing hard labour not sitting pretty with a better life than a lot of families on the breadline. I blame the stupid bastards who voted for the human rights act . My mate did his time around the same time I did mine, back in the early 80's and nick (as we call prison) was a tough ride and more of a punishment.
You had the chances to learn when you were down but it wasn't the cakewalk it is now.

I told about my friend to show the insanity of the sentence the woman who killed a child got. How can they send down my friend for two years for defending himself and then this bitch gets off so lightly for the murder of a defenseless child ?

He's already done his time and he's pretty philosophical about it, he says he possibly could of done things differently but things went the way they did.
When the skuffle broke out he was pretty much running on survival instinct a(He doesn't like to talk about it), but he said it happened so fast and it was a bit of a blur but the mugger died from a single wound.
I've known him a lot of years and he's a lot more peaceful person than I am and he wouldn't ever have done it deliberately , I think fear and his survival instinct were responsible for him reacting with any kind of violence.
I feel sorry for the muggers family but he did bring it on himself

i think the uk law is one of the best in the world. but it is often subject to so many rushed polices and knee jerked reactions due to 'the angry mob' that it often results in policies that are easily exploited, lenient and non sensical. whilst often the well thought out and radical changes take too long or are not part of the party polical agenda to get passed.

i think the right to defend yourself is one that britain needs, but would always come under scruitiney as it is an easy card to pull. however in the case and the particular incidents relating to your freinds case something does need to be done.

i am reminded of the kids that broke into the farmers house who ended up getting shot. to show the irony that the law often protects those who have no care or disregard for it.

the flip side to this is that no matter the circumstances, can taking someones life ever go unpunished. is it just a line that no matter what the circumstances, once crossed is worthy of retribution?

however i do not belive in the death penalty. i think though that a three strikes ruling should be implemented for the under 25's for crimes under murder and rape that causes them to be drafted.

i think however the right to bare arms under a constitution is wrong and am glad this country has the right agenda on that.

I'm not advocating the death penalty be given automaticaly , however there have been certain cases in recent years that have been proven so profoundly that there is no element of doubt whatsoever and in these cases the death penalty should apply.

Also is capital punishment just if even one innocent person is wrongly convicted and sentenced to death? But dont get me wrong i'm all for homicide in self defense.

The elimination of these evil people from society to make it a safer place is priceless.
