ok me and my boy hang out with this other couple all the time. the girl in the other couple is always calling me "honey". ill ask a question or something and she'll respond with a "well its like this, honey" or some retarded degrading bullshit. idk what to do about it. i told the boy and he said to just turn around and get on a computer and ignore her but wouldnt that be kind of obvious that i was ignoring her.
also, the guy in the group is always snapping at her (they are married). we were talking about capture the flag or some shit and the girl was making it out to be non-complicated and he goes "it can be fucking complicated if i want it to be" idk i just wanted to slap him.
then last night the friend is telling us this story about how the cops were outside someone's house wanting to talk to them, and i guess the girls there were in the way or whatever and he says "those hens should of just stayed inside and let the boys handle it" wtf. i ask my boy later whats up with that and he says "wouldnt you want to be inside if the cops came?" well duh of course, but wouldnt everyone? is my boy being sexist too?
and then he has to refer to my boy as his "best friend". who does that crap in front of others? i think it's a grade 1 term and also it made me jealous. i thought only catty girls said that shit.
and whenever im playing a game, the friend likes to tell me how to play it like im a freakin retard and if i dont do something he tells me to do in the game, he'll probably get mad and shake his head and scoff at me.
i dont know what to say or do. i was about to go off on them but i dont want to start fights. sigh.
also my boy told me that i ask dumb questions sometimes just to break the ice when we are with them and by doing that its like an open invitation for the chick to dump all over me and call me "honey". wtf is wrong with asking little ice breaker questions? would they rather sit there in silence and stare at each other?
it pisses me off how my boyfriend shrugs everything off and acts like nothing our friends do ever bothers him ever. he says he "works everything out in his head so he can just be like "wtf, i dont care". so of course he has to say "im not taking sides"

Um. There are a lot of things there, and they're probably all separate.
Regarding the cops - cops take men more seriously than they take women, cause a lot of them are sexist too. So maybe this other man is sexist, or maybe he was just being pragmatic about who should have dealt with the cops. I would rather have the men deal with the cops. It seems to usually be more effective. Sometimes that shit isn't worth worrying about, anyway.
Regarding the icebreakers, maybe you should think of better icebreakers, or make him start the conversation if he doesn't like yours.
And regarding her talking down to you, why don't you talk down to her, too? Turnabout is fair play. :)
Bottom line, if there's too much bullshit going on, you don't have to hang out with them anymore. It's your life. If they are best friends, then let your man hang out with them. You don't have to go along if you don't want to!

for the longest time i thought you were a guy until the end. so wait whats going on you feel degraded when another girl is calling you honey?
please straighten out the story a little bit. i know some guys that say babe, or sweetie, girl, etc. when talking to a girl just out of habit. i wouldnt take it to seriously.

Is the chick southern? We use honey a lot and mean nothing by it. It's only an insult if used with a really bitchy condescending tone. I'd try to just rise above their bs, and if that's not possible just don't hang with them like TheSmokingMonkey said. Also, try to not be jealous of that guy calling your boyfriend his best friend. It has nothing to do with you, and can't detract from the very different (and separate) relationship you have with your man. To get worked up over something like that is self-defeating. Its best to just let it go and accept that just because you're a couple doesn't mean you have to have the same group of friends. I really don't think he's sexist... at least not really. I think everyone has at least a twinkle of gender elitism in their soul. It's only human to think that what you are is in some small way superior to what your polar opposite happens to be. Human psychology is very complex and bizarre to say the least.
(PS to ChiefSmokesALot - LOL! I can't believe you quoted that in your signature. I feel special. :) )

get used to it.... i've been gaming for years and even when i could completely put someone down in a game, if i play single player that person will still tell me what to do in the game.... like i said, get used to it... it has nothing to do with him thinking you're retarded or not...
also my boy told me that i ask dumb questions sometimes just to break the ice when we are with them and by doing that its like an open invitation for the chick to dump all over me and call me "honey". wtf is wrong with asking little ice breaker questions? would they rather sit there in silence and stare at each other?
i'm a guy.... so i can give you some insight....
nothing is more irritating to me then a bunch of questions... i hate questions dunno why lol... and i'm also married... and me and my wife do sit there in silence alot.... i know she don't like to sit in silence, but i do... so yes, maybe they do just wanna sit in silence
and finally...
it pisses me off how my boyfriend shrugs everything off and acts like nothing our friends do ever bothers him ever. he says he "works everything out in his head so he can just be like "wtf, i dont care". so of course he has to say "im not taking sides"
i'd do the same thing... i also have the same fuck it attitude.... but that's a choice, not a habbit.... not caring is about the only way i can make it day to day in life... if i worried about everything i'd of lost it long ago....
anyways, if it bothers you that much, stop going... simple as that... you don't have to go, you choose to go.. you choose to put yourself in that situation.... so either choose to say something to them (the ones that need to hear it, not to sound rude or anything), choose to stop going, or choose to stop complaining about it... again, not to sound rude, it's just my opinion in this situation.

Houston, there is your problem. We have a pecking order situation. Cock is peckin' on his own hen. She's gonna turn around and assert her superiority in the only way she knows how, by talking down to others the way she herself allows herself to be treated.
Tell that bitch off. Hell, condescend right back at her... next time she gets up to use the ladies' room, you might step in there to powder your own nose as well.... here's a script:
"Honey, I'm sorry that your husband treats you like dirt in public, but just because you tolerate that sort of treatment doesn't mean everyone likes it. Don't use that fucking condescending tone with me ever again."
And MEAN it.

Im so confused:wtf:
Bottom line, life is way way to short to be around people that arent nice to you.I know this is an over simplistic way of looking at the world but its worked for me for a long time.I truly believe in my heart that what comes back to us in our life is a directly correlated to what we give out.I might be a bit off topic here but have you ever noticed those old folks who just looked pissed all the time, the lines in their faces turn down into a perma frown?I believe that as we get older we get boiled down to our essence and it shows up on our faces, wrinkles are fine and natural and that is much different than looking like you want to take somebodies head off.Sorry about the wandering post, just remember you have the power to decide who will and will not be included in your life and if they cant be nice, there loss.Hope this helps, take care,be well, and most of all be safe.
