Molasses in hash?

I've never tried hash before, so my dealer hooked me up with some. It smells (and has a taste) VERY similar to molasses, and has a brownish syrupy stickiness to it. I tried smoking it, but alas, it smelled and tasted horrible, not to mention I got ZERO smoke out of it, even holding the flame on for a bit to get it bubbling.

Can someone brief me on this? Are my suspicions founded? Or does hash really have a strong resemblence to molasses?

I don't think ya got hash, and if ya did that sounds like the nastiest hash I have ever heard of..Yeah should have got some smoke out of it, and if it tastes horrible thats not a good sign either. Good hash is supose to taste good! :) Sorry ya got ripped off, how much did ya pay?

Ugh 60 for an 8th...

I usually have an okay rapport with my dealer, but he's waaaay stingy with money and cheap, so I don't think he'd take it too well. I wll try to talk to him, because this really pisses me off. It doesn't have even ONE remote scent of pot.

EDIT: The more I smell it, the more it smells EXACTLY like gingerbread cookies. Lovely smell, it's got a sugary taste to it, so I don't think this is hash in the slightest.

you paid 60 for 3.5 grams of bad hash?...I'm so sorry to hear that! If ya were close to me I'd invite ya over for some real hash, that would knock your socks off! :D

This really pisses me off... I'm going to try to call him, and get my money back, or exchange for some bud. I'm usually one not to fall for this kind of stuff, but it was wrapped in a tight seal; I should have inspected it, but it was dark and I had to leave.

EDIT: I just did a glucose sampling, it's through the ROOF with sugar coating. Fuck.

It tasted horrible... nothing like pot at all, no high, nothing. I've smoked compressed kief, which in essence, is very similar to hash, and it tastes beautiful. This just gives off a nasty burning smell.

Hash never smell like weed, you know.
You can try to roll it in a joint together with some tobacco. Crumble or grind the hash good and then it will burn better.

I know it never smells like weed. What I DO know, is that it's not supposed to smell and taste like gingerbread cookies. It's supposed to smell heady. This just gives off a burning sugar stench when it's being burned. I've tried multiple ways to light it, each time it simply bubbles and has an acrid smell come from it. That's not hash, man.

No that probably is molasses, or carmelized sugar... See if you can get your dealer to give your money back or exchange for some actual bud or hash

Ask your dealer to smoke some of it and tell you what he thinks it is. Sixty bucks is s lot to pay for a cookie.

Damn man, that sounds rough.

The only resemblence hash has to mollasses would be along the lines of Gold Seal bubblehash/ Dark brown bubblehash is very soft, like a warm piece of bubbleicious bubblegum, but, it is by no means sticky, just soft.

So if it smells like it and tastes sweet like mollasses, I am guessing that's what it is. Hash, is not sticky like you described.

I would say toss it and find a new dealer. You said it didn't get you high and tasted bad, so I say cut your losses and find a new source. Smoking sugar can be very bad for, so I personally wouldn't risk it. I'd be pissed at the person though and call them up, tell them it obviously isn't hash.
