Well considering it's absolutely SCORCHING during that time of year in TN, a bit overpriced, and WAY too crowded, I'm going to pass once again. I would just rather go to a festival with most, if not all, of the music catered to my tastes. I'll pass on the TOOL and Police aspects that I'm sure will be around this year. I also don't like how crowded it is.

LOL my one question is how do you know you're going for sure when the line up hasn't even been announced?? That's the one thing that brings me to a festival in the first place. I'm sure it will be nasty for the most part though. Still, there could be plenty of other, better fests out there (and there are too ;)).

I was pretty disappointed with Bonnaroo last year. There was hardly any glass on Shakedown Street, there were asshole Tool fans all over the place, ruining the vibe. The dust was absolutely unbearable.

2006 was one of the best times of my life. I had absolutely zero qualms with 2006, which was why I went in 2007. However I was pretty let down with 2007.

I'll have to wait to see what the lineup looks like in 2008...if Led Zeppelin is on that list, I'm there, otherwise there's no way I can say I'm going quite yet. I was hoping Pearl Jam was going to be playing bonnaroo but it appears they'll be in Europe.

Until then, I'm planning on expanding my horizons and checking out other smaller festivals...obviously Bonnaroo has the best acts annually, but that's a sacrifice I might have to make.

If you're in the midwest, check out Summercamp in Chillicothe, IL the end of May. A Great vibe, not NEARLY as crowded as Bonn, and honestly an overall better lineup. 3 nights of moe., 2 nights of Umphrey's, and MUCH more. The late night shows in the barn are always an epic experience.

I'm going to bonnaroo either way, idc about the lineup im always up for new music and some of those bands ive never heard of. It's not all for the music for me anyway, I like a lot of people and sharing cool good memories with everyone but thats just my opinion.

If your going to summer camp take your own drugs.....I can find better weed in Peoria (which is less than 10 min away) and that in my oppinion that is really sad. But anway this thread is about Bonnaroo how much are tickets usually? It seems like it would be a pretty decent time, but it would be hard for me not to have a good time at a festival.

Lol aw come on man! It's gottaaa be about the music! But an open mind either way is always good to go in there with.

And hey kitty, I dunno where you're getting your weed from at Scamp but we always, ALWAYS find some dank buds. Sometimes we don't even have to leave camp.

Tix for Bonnaroo aren't anything toooo crippling from past years either. It's something like 140-160 range, which is still a little steep but hey whatever. I just don't like the fact that even if you paid that, you're not guaranteed to see some of the acts you may have wanted to catch because there's already too many people there. Not cool lol. ~

I guess summer camp was too hyped up for me because so many people told me how good it was then I went the first year they went crazy with cops. More than one person I know was arrested and there were far too many drunk people. Granted the music was insane I'll probably go to other festivals next summer.

What first attracted me to Bonnaroo was the fact that you could pay (ususually) no more than $200 to see some of the top notch acts in the world. Artists from all over the world come to play in Manchester. We got Ziggy Marley from Jamaica, we got Gogol Bordello from Germany(i think, lol), we got Radiohead from England, we got Manu Chao from South America.

It's a great way to expand your musical sense for sure.

When it comes down to it, it's all about the music. That's why we call it a "Music Festival". Everything else should be second hand.

Just my humble opinion..

I have heard that pearl jam is unofficially confirmed, and i also heard that robert plant might be coming this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Robert Plant, if he's playing, I'll be there, count on it. John Paul Jones was there in 2007 so Robert Plant is not out of the question. Not to mention he'll be touring with Allison Krauss this spring, so don't be surprised to see them both...

As for Pearl Jam, I would love to see them, but I had heard they're going to be in Europe.

Who I'm wishing will play:

Some kind of hip-hop, Common, Kanye, something along those lines...
I want to see a good amount of underground hip hop - Similar to Atmosphere or Aesop Rock
I want to see Neil Young or CSNY...
And I want to see WSP again or some other good 'jammy' type band

not quite sure what dude is asking here, but speaking from experience, there's always good bud at bonnaroo. i live about thirty minutes away & went to the festival in '03, '04, '05 and '07. has a blast every time.

if you wanna go, look for volunteer info on the bonnaroo website. if you plop down a deposit worth the price of a ticket & work three 6 hour shifts (choose from before or during the festival), you get a free meals during shifts, free showers for the duration, AND a staff wristband which allows you to skip the lines and enter centeroo right between the two main stages. it's a sweet deal; i highly reccomend going this way.

thats a really good idea, i actually saw the email they sent out asking for voluteers, and considered it, for similar reasons like getting special priviledges and the such, but am still on the fence about wether i want to or not, it is afterall a largish commitment for me.

Definitely check out the Wood Bros...Those are the guys that you should have highlighted.

Seriously. They are quite the musicians.
