Is it a must for a guy to have an amazing stomach. and if not, does a little cushion turn women off?

agreed the stronger you are down there the better... you don't even need to work out to have strong abs... just have to focus more:jointsmile:

Just work out twice a week and you'll be in perfect shape for the ladies.

I don't have a problem with a little cushion at all. Sometimes it makes me nervous that my husband cares as much as he does about his abs because I certainly don't!

It's not a must, you can get laid or whatever you are looking for without them. However, when two men are compared, on the scale of attractiveness, based on physicality, the one with abs is more so then the one without, imo. Thus, i continue to train and sit up, to attain more strength and confidence. First and foremost for myself, secondly for others.

Despite all the types of crunches and lifts I've tried, I'm starting to think the best way to tone your abs actually comes from running.

It is the combination of both. This video is pretty good.

I usually get decent abs from just doing sets of 100 sit ups a couple times a day.

if your appearance is the primary reason someone is dating you, then you dont want them, they will/are materialistic and that is something you do not want to be anywhere near. Now, does this mean it is excepted by society.....absolutely not, just like woman have the issue of all the size 0 models that society thinks is the way you should look, men have to deal with the samething. So one has to ask themselves a couple of questions, do you look for looks first (does she have a smoking body), Is that something that is most important to you (can you live with the fact that she is an amazing chic but doesnt have a size 0 body).

If your comfortable with who you are and how you look, that will come out when you are talking to someone. That will be more attractive to someone of the opposite sex than the model body. Dont get me wrong, it doesnt hurt to have that 6 pack stomach and such, but you have to know what you are looking for in the person and not what the wrapping looks like.

I prefer an 18-rack... Lasts longer, and fits in the fridge better. :D

6 packs are really nice but its not that important. i've been into guys w/o a pudgy stomach, it can be kinda cute. just as long as he doesnt look like he's hiding a beach ball in his shirt

Everyone has their preferences. I prefer not to drink. I try to keep a balance of walking many miles a day while blazing away.

When I had a six pack, the ladies loved to see it, but every girl I was with complained it was "too hard." At the time it was pretty excessive how often I worked my abs and the hours I put in running.

You have no reason to have perfect abs unless you a supermodel, or a porn star. Some tonage is good.

I'm a bodybuilder, and personally, I am really into health one way or another. I find someone who is into their health very respectful, and very sexy. I could never be with someone who isn't into fitness and health, why not try and live as long and as healthy as possible? I never understood the "you're going to die someday" ya well why not live a long and prosperous life?

best and quickest way to build abs is do chin ups but stick your legs out straight the whole time your doing them... its hard as fuck in the beginning but youll notice a difference within a few weeks. just do as many as you can each time untill you cant anymore.

The reality of abdominal muscles showing is bodyfat. You could have done not one situp in your life, and have amazing abs, it's genetic+bodyfat. Also, there is no such thing as spot reduction, it's overall fat loss, and the sad part is, it comes off the stomach last :(

well the way i see it is depending on how your body is naturally depends on how easy youll be able to have abs... but from my experiences as long as you arent fat and have some tone girls like it. but nice abs are a big turn on for girls.

i don't have abs, but i do have a flat stomach. the girlfriend seems to like it...

i don't have the determination to get abs

the ABS on my car is broken too, and i don't have the determination to fix that either

coincidence?

I was always under the impression that doing exercises like sit-ups only make your bads 'bigger'. Because your making the stomach muscles bigger. If you're already skinny and want to build muscle mass, then yes do sit-ups and stuff like that.

But if you're trying to slim down AND build muscle mass, I wouldn't advice doing sit-ups and other exercises to build your abs. If you already have stomach fat, your best bet is to run. Once you've been running for a while, and you start to lose the stomach fat, THEN you should probably start working on those abs...

Am I correct in this thinking?

I've never really been overweight, I've always been taller than everyone else, though my body never really 'matured' into what all my friends had. I was rather slender, yet I still had some 'jiggly' on my body. Probably too many cokes :(...But I started running and the body fat seemed to melt away. I was already rather muscular, running just accentuated my muscles.

idc about a 6 pac just dont be fat
its good wen a guy takes care of yourself and a nice set of abs is always a + but its not something that i care about in a relationship, or even something i look for in a one night stand or something........... not that i have one night stands or anythgin lo l

You can work your whole front, abs, pecks, arms, while you drive a car, just by pressing on the steering wheel so all your muscles are contracting, keep pressing until you can't any longer, then relax for a few seconds and do it some more. You can exercise WHILE driving a car! I do it all the time.

Because you will die someday. I almost did more than a year ago through cancer. Not because I was in poor health, I was a total fitness nut, just one of those things that was destiny. Don't mistaken me, I'm not old, I'm young, diagnosed when I was 23.

It's not to bring your philosophy down, because to this day, I'm still a fitness nut. I work-out all the time, constantly soak knowledge about various different exercises and types, but not with the same determination to have the perfect body or be the strongest because I know I'll never have it again. I got scars all over, but I do it because I enjoy it, it makes me feel good to lift a little more than you can each time.

If something ever happens to you, you'll learn to understand what "you're going to die someday" means. Live life to the fullest every moment possible.

My girl used to LOVE my abs but nowadays she could care less. So although a 6-pack may help you get girls...it certainly doesn't help you keep them!

Im a Mr. Joe blow, and my hips are still in place, and plenty of quality "pipe laying" has taken place. ;)

Contrary to popular belief, muscle can exist quite well underneath some fat. Just because someone doesnt have protruding muscles doesnt mean they arent in shape and still built solid.

I don't care about abs and guys who are obsessed with their six-pack or whatnot. Just as long as they're in decent shape and have some nice, strong arms.

I couldn't tell you how important "abs" are for them but I prefer my women slim and sexy. So, to be fair, I should be "slim and sexy" too. Fat isn't slim and sexy. And with all the munchies I eat and the beers I drink, I'd say I NEED to stay in shape. You just feel better about yourself.
But I think "perfect abs" have nothing to do with staying fit.
