Just post a word that you think your friends here could use in a sentence..there is almost nothing better than throwing a new word in a sentence and thinking to yourself how cool that was...plus, you at least appear to be smart..ok..post the word and then also make a sentence with it. It does not have to be a million dollar word either..just a word that we could throw in on occasion..here is mine

Mwahahahaha! Next time you make me bust out laughing like that, I'm gonna have to tape your fingers together!
My word of the day is Orgasmic.
Today I went to McDonalds and acquired a delicious McOrgasmic Muffin with extra cherries on top. Don't forget to peel off the little paper thing now, because it does not taste as good when you combine both together. The paper is very difficult to masticate therefore removing it from the Muffin and eating it separately will provide a MUCH more enjoyable experience.
audacity - having the juevos to do something daring, absurd

sesquipedalian: a lover of long words.
this thread has potential if those who aren't vocab enthusiasts quit posting
Did you know, those who use swear words alot, or even use swear words unnecessarily tend to have a wider vocabulary, and can articulate themselves better.

Cognition - The conscious process of the mind by which one becomes aware of thoughts and perceptions, including all aspects of perceiving, thinking, and remembering.
Recognition - the state or quality of being recognized or acknowledged;
Recognize - acknowledge: accept (someone) to be what is claimed or accept his power and authority;
Remember - recall knowledge from memory; have a recollection;
Know: be cognizant or aware of a fact or a specific piece of information; possess knowledge or information about;
True - consistent with fact or reality; not false;
Belief - any cognitive content held as true
"Failure to recognize my previous state of cognition made
recognition hard to remember, even though I know the definition of the word. You see, because what you believe is what you perceive. Just know that anything you believe is true."
Words don't mean shit if you don't understand them. :thumbsup:

lol, are you basing this on the Trailer Park Boys? :D
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words.
My god I checked it and Ghosty's right! To think, a word in the english language was actually invented with ironic humor in mind. That of they were really cruel and didn't want anybody with the disorder to be able to seek help; "You see doc, I'm really suffering, I have.... erm.... nevermind, I'm going home".

Nope. It's something Stephen Fry was talking about a little while ago - and he is informed to say the least.
I'm pretty sure they'll be something on the net about it.
That's why those who say swearing makes you look stupid are wrong. Plain and simple.

Gynasyphaherpaclapatarosis.
I had to goto the doctor and ask if they had any imunization shots for Gynasyphaherpaclapatarosis but, the Dr. said "Son, once you get that shit on you, you cannot get it off and there is no imunization shots for Gynasyphaherpaclapatarosis."
If you get Gynasyphaherpaclapatarosis, you are done.

As Gandalf pointed out, Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is an example of irony...much like the word dyslexia...maybe it hints toward the malevolence of our species.
Some of my favourites: belligerence, conducive, prepostuous...and one I made up...socioschematic
The prepostuous actions of our government exhibits a belligerence that is conducive to our perceived socioschematic ideal.
Or summat!

I guess I shoulda put the definitions of all those words, but I kinda couldn't be bothered lol
But, I should define that word I made up: socioschematic.
It means the accepted behaviour pattern given the scheme of things within a certain social network.
Does that help?
The sad truth of the world, these days, is that many people are too lazy to learn the english language (complex as it is). I love to listen to a well articulated speaker...in many respects, Quentin Tarrantino's use of language in his films.

Transubstatiate. To break a substance down, metaphorically, into another object or feeling.
Smoking pot transubstatiates into happiness for me, both physically and mentally.
Myriad. A countless number of objects.
When I smoke pot, a myriad of physical sensations occur in my neurological pathways. I can feel the blood moving through my fucking veins.

Apophenia - is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. The term was coined in 1958 by Klaus Conrad, who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness".
The identification of a face on the surface of Mars is an example of pareidoliac apophenia.

Transpicuous-adj.
clearly seen through or understood
As the police spokeman inflated the value and magnitude of the small marijuana arrest, his motives were quite transpicuous. It was obvious he was trying to instill fear in the community over the preceived dangers of marijuana.
