ok here's my 2cc's worth:

You would start out your seedlings or clones at: 100ml Grow, 100ml micro, 100ml bloom. Do this for at least the first week and watch you plants for signs of nutrient burn and or nutrient deficiencies.(for help on the signs of Nute burn and deficiencies do a search on the forums here.)

The way they are telling you to mix the nutrients is: first week 2.5ml per gal of each. So that adds up to 400ml total-100ml grow, 100ml micro, 100ml bloom.

Follow their feeding chart just as they say unless you are seeing things go wrong with your plants. If you do see something wrong do some searches to help you identify the problem and then search for the fix to that problem.

Remember that less is more when it comes to Hydroponic nutrients. By that I mean start out with a low PPM and a stable PH and work the PPMs up IF your plants need it. You can always feed your plants more if they need it but if you end up burning your plants with too high of a PPM then it is hard for new hydro growers to fix it quickly enough with out ill effects.

You NEED a PPM/PH pen to monitor your nute levels and PH. This is an essential tool if you want success with in this growing style. Get some PH up and PH down from your grow shop if you don't have some already.

I hope that this helps you out. Do some searches on the forums and you will learn ALOT.

Absolutely essential. Each are around $20-$30. The way you tell if you have enough food in your solution is with a PPM meter. Of course a PH pen is even more important. You can kinda guess at PPM but not PH.

And if you have a 40 gallon res, keep in mind you probably will not be filling it to the brim, maybe like 38 gal.
