I have seen Les Miserables in San Diego before when I lived there but now in NY, not the city, I am trying to go see it in NYC before it closes Jan. 8 I was wondering if anyone has seen it there, which would be great to hear about, and anyone who has seen it anywhere as well.
I love this show and normally I'm not that big of a theater person, but the music and songs are amazing. They range from unbelievably powerful and uniting like do you hear the people sing, to soft and sutle like castle on a cloud, and powerful songs of desperation like at the end of the day.
IMO the movie didn't do it, it didn't have anywhere near the power in the story that the musical live can deliver. It was a great movie and story but the music and performance are what set this apart from all others out there. This is not normaly my type of music by anymeans but I have been regularly listening to the soundtrack since I was 12, 11 years now and only managed to see it twice and never in NYC.
I thought it would be great if there were people out there who have seen it and we could talk about it and hopefully some others will see it as well.
If you want to listen to any of it here is a link to free Les Miserables music.
