apparently there is a way of reading the bible or it is how the bible is written that basically is predicting future events. names have been found the bible with relevance to history as we have known it. like , hitler 1939 or bush re-elected

So for God to put a code in there is not going to happen. And For that Code to even match the mayan prediction of 2012, The mayans were a blood lusting society the exact oppsit of God's Word the Bible.

lol......I did try to use it a while back but it was pretty confusing. Doomsday is about the Mayan prophecy. Basically it points out the fact that the Mayans invented the calender, though their calender was very complex and detailed, and it showed how they predicted solar eclipses which is cool cuz you wouldn't think that people from that time era would be able to do such a thing without todays technology. The actual doomsday show really didn't talk much about the Mayans like you would think, it talked about different prophets from different times and places who made similar prophecy's to the Mayans. I can't remember the prophecy in detail, but it didn't just come out and say that we were going to be hit by a comet. All of the prophecy's that were explained just sort of pointed to the end being around 2012.

what i find facinating with the 2012 prediction is that it was not only the mayans who predicted that.
as far as the bible code that same code can be applied to any lengthy book, such as war and peace or moby dick. so i dont put much belief in it.
as far as the maya being a blood lust society, they are no more than any ancient society. amost all religions at one time or another demanded blood sacrifice.

Mayans were very smart when it came to astronomy and time keeping and if you look at what happens on 12/21/2012 in an astrological perspective, they say that the magnetic poles could shift and also around the same time I think the earth is supposed to align with the Milky Way or something (I canâ??t remember too well). But if you look the Mayan calendar on wikpedia it shows 12/21/2012 to be the end of a big cycle, which could also be interpreted as rebirth.

Its not the Bible code although it does affirm. Actually it is a Mayan code not to mention that the tibetans have something pretty similar along with a whole gaggle of other indeginous predictions. Getting back to 2012 though that is as far as the Mayan calendar goes to and to date it has been oretty damn accurate. Although I don't recollect anything about a comet. Everything I've heard is that governments and technology are going to fail. Anarchy yeah. I know my kids are gonna eat.

Ok I get it; 12/21/2012 the planets will align and cause the planetary sleeves which is sort of like a cylindrical layer of a planet and inside the cylindrical layer is the center of gravity, will collide with each other resulting in the peak of an 11 year cycle called solar maximum, which is the peak of solar activity when the sun sort of belches solar flares which could be described as radiation and strong electrical currents. Anyways these radiation and strong electrical currents shoot outwards into space and most of the times are bounced back into the sun. But sometimes the sun lets off a type of super flare which shoots out like a bullet and can hit planets. If small flares was to hit the planet it could cause large blackouts and it also can affect our moods and health, but if a large flare was to hit the earth it would be a global disaster resulting in death to anything it touched. This is just the beginning of what will be happening in space on 12/21/2012, also our planet will be moving from the top of the Milky Way to the bottom of the Milky Way which means we will be intersecting with the galactic equator and while our planet is doing this we will be aligned with the center of our galaxy where there is maximum mass, which will result in further imbalance making the solar flares possibly the worst that our planet has ever seen, and somehow the Mayans knew this! So I guess I can say they Mayan prophecy is really overlooked, it has nothing to do with a comet. this is just a small summary so some of the terms and may not be completely correct, but u can do your own research and try to sum it up in easier terms.

Yes, I watched the history channel program to. Along with my little brother which then scared the shit out of him into a spiritual relapse. My mom had to go buy him a childrens bible so he would have hope in something thinking he knew then the world ended.

On topic: Science says this is happening and I have no dought the Mayans predicted it but as for what was helping them be as advanced as they were, I do Not think it was God's direction.

well the mayans did'nt predict anything like that. i watched a show on the mayans back in 92', and the only think they did was they had a sun dial and calendar that started many many years ago back in there time, and went into the future and it ran all the way to 12/21/2012; and it stoped on that date they did'nt predict that the world ended on that date.

and remember the mayans were farmers and they tracked the weather and crop seasons. there have been sundials found in az,nm,co and they were used for farming. who ever told u about a comet 14 miles wide is blowing smoke, as it said nothing like that.not to say it's not a day to remember but to say what is going to happen who knows. just like i remember when everyone went apeshit back in 99 when people thought that was gonna be something like a doomsday and everything was gonna stop working well....

Hehe, the Y2K bug. It seems that everyone's forgotten about that already, and it was only seven years ago. In any case people have been predicting the end of the world since the dawn of time. Nobody's really going to know when it is until it happens though.

Also, has nobody considered that the Mayan calendar could just be this millennium's edition, and they were waiting until the turn of the century to issue next millennium's? It's an amusing thought. :)

that was proven a coincidence. one, why the hell would it be in the english version of the bible. two, they did the exact same thing with moby dick. the thing about the bible code is it doesnt have to be any certain way. it can go upside down, diagonal back words, criss cross, anything. it is bound to happen that other things will start to appear especially in a book that long. and they did in moby dick too, and i believe they have tested it on other things as well. furthermore, when the bible was written no one was aware that english was ever going to be an existent language, so they must have been pretty damn good to fuse the fate of the world into the original version while still amking sure none of the predictions were lost in translation.

however i am with p4b it is eery a lot of things predict a similar date, and the mayans were able to do some amazing things, not saying i believe it or think it is going to happen, because i dont, but if it were to happen i am not goingg to be naive enough to say it was a coincidence.

the mayans, the chinese, the natives, the norwegians, the aliens, egyptians, dogs, and squirrels all had a basic idea of simple astronomy. the druids had a complete layout of the visible planets and the cycles of the sun and moon. anyone with that kind of basic knowledge of the movement of the planets could mathematically figure out how many years until the planets would line up. it makes perfect sense that ancient peoples all over the world would know that the planets would line up on a certain date and all of them get the date right. however, I fail to see where the planets lining up has anything to do with a comet and the destruction of the world, unless of course you happened to have just drank an assload of ayahuasca, in which case alot of things can turn into the end of the world.

Umm, no its not a 14 km wide comet, the mayan's belive it is the return of Kee-Zo-Qwa-Tal (thats how its pronounced, who the fuck knows how to spell it.) First thing first bible code is crap there was a show here in Australia called John Safran vs god,using the methodology they use in the bible code books they found prophecies in the liner notes of one of vanilla ice albums. :D If thats any sign of how crap it is.

As for the mayans i dont think that it will happen and if it did it would be a very lucky guess no more.Not to mention there has being countless doomsday predictions that kind of thing will always have appeal to some.

I have seen this bible code, I dont know how true it is but from what I have seen, code brakers and intell specialist have found something of a code in the bible. Everything from hitler to, predictions 300 years into the future or more. It seems certain names or words have alot of meaning in the bible code. And for those of you who are like there is no code its says this and that, well the code isnt in the words but the bible itself, It is in every paragrahe combined with everypage, etc. The code also seems not to be affected by time, as it even seems to transend time. People say that the predictions on the Mayan Tun calendar mostly is about an evolution of consciousness, which builds up slowly until it reaches its peak at 2012.

I watched a video of it awhile ago, and it was very interesting. I forgot the guy's name. No, it was not Michael Tsarion, some other guy. It did persuade me to believe that there could be an evolution of consciousness, and that every x amount of years (in the hundreds of thousands, thousands, and escalates even to months and weeks) we reach a new global consciousness, which is brought on by cosmic forces. He also says that the Mayan Tun calendar has thus far been extremely accurate in predicting the evolution of consciousness over the past hundreds of thousands of years. Crazy!
