I and some friends are collecting lumber to build a smoke shack, separate from one friend's house, deep in the woods. If we were to grow in it, would that be considered indoor growing or outdoor? I mean, we wouldn't have any heating apart from the lights, and I don't expect we'll make a shack that's quite up to the standards of regular architecture--ie, it'll let in cold air and maybe some rain.

Hello,

The trick with indoor growing is that you want to be able to "control" as many factors as possible. There will be several grow issues that arrise from using the "Smoke Shack" for indoor growth.

Once example would be electrical items such as lights with the addition of rain, no good.

On the other hand using it as an outdoor type of green house might work provided that there is plenty of sunlight entering the interior of your structure.

I would suggest building the shack, (you can grab blueprints off of the net, to avoid architectural breakdown). Then dispersing seeds and clones in the surrounding woods. This way they will have a chance at receiving plenty of natural influence during the growing season.

I hope this helps.

can you just grow outside the shack?

I fear deer. Besides, it's too cold out.

Cover the shack with opaque white plastic. Otherwise, piss in beer cans and they will stink for a long time. If you know it is going to freeze, maybe you can sleep in the shed and leave a propane heater going.
