Currently have 14 dudes running 24/7 under a 600 hps. My last and also first time growing, I had 13 dudes that produced about 9 oz. Just wondering what a good amount is for this particular type of setup with adequate nutrients and about 4 weeks of veg like last time? What would be a good yield and how can i increase yield with just this one light?

well Dude im not sure what ur sexual prefrance is but I love the Female sex under me light and around me tight LOL Ya dig.
On the subject!
-14/Babes under tha one light no so smart, they will crowd and the containers they would have to be in wouldnt be big enough to build a hefty root system. Big roots=Big buds
i would think about dropping it to about 9ish and get bigger containers
you can increase the yeild by growing them alittle longer and training them
another little nip that I use is 17/7 since most plants build their roots at night it gives that xtra hr. to develop roots.
-keep in mind tha sbuds also like ta go that xtra day without water unless of corse they need it.
strap for time GL

I was growing purple, master, and og kush. I did not train them last time, nor did i move them around during veg so other parts could get light, which is what i am doing now. This time i have white widow, bubba kush, ak 47, and ice with varied pot sizes. Should i top them, and if so- when?

NO DON'T TOP THEM!
I would train them using Low Stress Training (LST) I use cut and bent coat hangers so the look like long fish hooks and push them in the soil then gently bend the top under the hook so it is at horizontle position. This has the same effect as topping but alot less stressful to the plant.
You can also use heavy cotton string or butchers string and tie them down as well.
I have basically the same set-up as you, I have a grow log titled "day one" you can read that and see what I am doing and take what you might think will help from that.

I don't know about the rest of your plants, but I would certainly top or fim the Widows. Even with topping, you'll still have to train the Widows in some fashion, like Jerry said, because they will so want to outgrow the kushes. But with topping you'll have more to train. My Widows love to be cut!
