View Full Version : If weed were legal...
If weed were legal do you think the government would try and regulate thc content? I ask because they do this with alcohol. Here in colorado they dont sell beer in grocery stores unless its 3.2%
If weed were legal do you think growing would be legal or just the smoking of the plant? For instance, brewing your own moonshine is illegal so would growing be? There is a difference between the two in that weed is a plant that your grow and with alcohol you have to actually make it.
If weed were legal would they sell it everywhere? Once again to compare to alcohol, do you think you would be able to just walk into your neighborhood walgreens and pick up an oz of some kush? or would they regulate who can sell it and how much one could buy at a time?
idk if this has been talked about before but all these thoughts just popped into my head and i was curious what you all thought.

It goes like this:
First is medical use(homegrowers)
Next is decriminalization.
At the point when sale is allowed you could imagine more of a farmers market. People get together to hawk there ware's.
But maybe some big companies take intrest, Then its a whole new ballgame. Thats when regulation kicks in. But since THC test aren't practical, We'd find ways around the machine(like the cigarette companies).

theyd probly make up some limit for personal use. it would deffinatly be government regulated. youd probly need some sort of license or whatever if you wanted a large amount, and it would probly be shwagg. those are just my ideas, id much rather it stay how it is, but decriminalized
Its a Plant

There's no way the govt can regulate who grows marijuana at this point, which is why I don't see it sold in stores like alcohol is. No one would buy it when they can go up the street to their buddy's and pay half that, untaxed. Weed won't be full-out "legalized" anytime soon, bottom line. Decriminalized, possibly, but not legal. There's just no way to control those who grow and who are allowed to grow. My :twocents:

in a way its better that its illegal b/c there is no tax and no added chemicals (unless ur connect is a shady bastard). If it became legal it would probably have as many chemicals as ciggs in a few years.

Any one care to explain the meaning of decriminalized, but not legal?

It would definitely be regulated, but knowing most governments, it would be ineffectual and corrupt anyway.
I'd just BE the big grower. Then I can do anything I want :)

Thats what i was thinking. Not so much the chemical's, but every one seems to talk about how legalization would be soo awesome but i could see the government making it more of a pain in the ass. who knows, well find out sooner or later.

And decriminalized means that it's a misdemeanor, like a speeding ticket or something, rather than a felony, like armed robbery. Currently in most states (and federally) possession is a felony, but in some states it has been "decriminalized" which means you get a fine instead of a prison sentence if you are found in possession.
So it's still illegal, but it's a civil fine, not a "crime".

Well i don't even see how it could be legalized seeing as that is was fairly recently deemed a felony to be in posession. (in oregon) so i think that if it ever does see any let ups in the law it will be in a hundred years or so... and then i think it would so sick because you could buy different strength tintures like you can buy different proof alch... all i got to say is that I would WET my pants if it was decriminalized and if it was fully legalized i would shit and piss my self in extatics.:rastasmoke:

No, decriminalized means that there is no charge, only a fine. A misdemeanor is still a pretty heavy charge. If weed were decriminalized, it would be equivalent to jay-walking and other petty things like that.
