i have. it gives you slightly less yield but more resin production. i used an mh for a few grows. i suggest investing in an hps, it's worth it.

depending on the wattage of your MH ballast, you may be able to use a 'conversion lamp' from here: HID-Lights - High Pressure Sodium Light Bulbs - 1000-Bulbs - The Light Bulb Superstore (http://www.1000bulbs.com/High-Pressure-Sodium/)

I use a 'conversion MH lamp' with my 400-watt sodium ballast, it is working just fine, (I couldnt afford another ballast) ... :smokin:

If you don't have a switchable HID ballast...a conversion bulb is the way to go.

I had two 400 watt lamps, one MH and one HPS. I noticed visibly larger blooms on the HPS side, but the MH were more dense. Dried weight came out the same. This is my experience for one strain only, so your mileage might vary.
