Hi..
My lowryders about 4/5 weeks old, and ive started noticing the bark on the bottom of the stem is peeling away, like its being slowly eaten away .... it doesnt look good at all. Can anybody help me identify this problem and perhaps tell me what my next course of action should be to fix this?
Thank you.

this should be posted in the 'Plant Problems' section ... sounds to me like you water too close to the stem, may be getting 'stemrot' ... don't know, we need photos to tell for sure ... start watering away from the stem, it prevents rot, and promotes rootgrowth, as they reach out for water and nutrients ... let the soil dry more between waterings, too ... :smokin:

Sorry for posting in the wrong section, will not do that again.
I am actually growing from rockwool in DWC hydro system if that makes any difference.

is the bark pale and flaky, or dark and mushy?

i'd have to say dark and mushy, my plants also starting to lean over to one side :(

Stem rot.
Common causes of this are:
-overwatering
-plant and soil surface itself too low below the rim of the pot, restricting air flow around base
-very high ambient humidity
-combination of two or all of these

I'm only growing the one plant atm, anything I can do to treat it? Google isn't being very helpful.
Edited to say: on closer inspection there is also what appears to be these tiny white dots, sort oval shape on the stem where the bark has been stripped off? Typical of stem rot?
Thanks for your help.
