need ideas (computer display settings)

alright, so things that are black are dark grey, and everything is kinda 'dull'.... it's like my brightness and contrast are turned just a bit too high (but it doesn't have the over-brightness it would have if it did) so if i turn down the brightness and contrast to counter-react the grey, my screen is too dark....

i have it set up on highest color (32 bit) so i'm really not sure what to do.... it's really damned annoying.... so any ideas on how i can fix this?

youll need so set up the colour options on the monitors controls, you can download little freeware calibration tools from the net, have a look at |MG| Monitor Calibration Wizard 1.0 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3912.html)
