View Full Version : Obama Plays Convincing Obama in a Skit Mocking Clinton

??Saturday Night Live? has relentlessly mocked Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and this weekend allowed Senator Barack Obama, a chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, to join in the skewering.
The comedy show portrayed Mrs. Clinton dressed as a bride at a Halloween party, while the actors playing Bill Clinton and some of the other Democratic candidates called her a witch. All the candidates were lampooned except Mr. Obama, extending what some rival campaigns privately complain is a glut of positive news coverage.
The Obama campaign said yesterday that they were allowed to ??tweak? the script, but the extent of such tweaks was not clear. A spokesman for the show said Mr. Obama ??had as much input as any guest or host would have on the material but it was written by us, not them.? The spokesman said Mr. Obama had declined to do a prepared sketch about the fact that he and Vice President Dick Cheney are cousins.
The show??s host was Brian Williams, the anchor of the ??NBC Nightly News,? and there was considerable preshow discussion about whether his appearance would compromise his journalistic integrity. But the postshow coverage has centered on Mr. Obama, whose appearance was a surprise and drew enormous applause from the studio audience.
In the opening skit, Bill and Hillary Clinton, played by Darrell Hammond and Amy Poehler, were holding a Halloween party (and bickered constantly, with ??Mrs. Clinton? laughing at inappropriate moments). As Mr. Clinton, Mr. Hammond was dressed up as Mystery, from the VH1 reality show ??The Pickup Artist.? As Mrs. Clinton, Ms. Poehler wore a white bridal gown, but other characters called it a witch??s outfit.

Well, I'm glad to hear that SNL had at least a couple of good skits. It sucks so badly now, I've always watched it, but the last couple of years, not so much. May have to catch those clips on youtube, though.

With all due respect P4B.... Get over it! As I said in the other thread, going on "smarter than a 5th grader" is political suicide and an idiotic indicator of intelligence, yet one that would be viewed as valid by voting mental invalids nontheless.
The man went on Saturday night live and it gave us a chuckle to see it. Are we so desperate to tar-and-feather Obama as to pounce all over something so insignificant and twist it into a serious "incident"? Nothing but harmless fun here, lets save the political criticism for actual faulty leadership decisions.

Mr. Obama.....wanna go on Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader for charity?
"Oh no, what if I can't find Pakistan on a map? Political suicide...don't wanna look like an idiot"
Mr. Obama...wanna go on SNL and make fun of your opponent?
"Hey, sounds like fun....just make sure they don't ask any hard questions."
"The man went on Saturday night live and it gave us a chuckle to see it.".........The other show in question is hosted by Jeff Foxworthy; another commedian that actually has a name in the business. LMAO...Get over it.

Well of course the questions would only be no-brainers like finding Pakistan on a map. Surely no odd facts might come up!
And actually in the skit Barack properly identified Hillary as a bride, not a witch. I was more dissapointed by the lack of comedic dialogue he had.
Besides, "Smarter than a 5th grader" is pure fox reality show drek. At least Saturday Night Live has a respectable standing.

He decided to go on a NO BRAIN show instead of one where he would have had to think...not to mention the benifit that it would have gave to some charity. Hell yeah, he made the right decision; After all, it is on Fox. LOL

Oh come on man! You're telling me any show that doesn't involve trivia is a "NO BRAIN" show? I guess that implies Obama's stupidity (even though I'd consider him more articulate than any of the other candidates).
BTW there are some great shows on FOX, I said FOX reality shows are drek.
Bah, we could go on for hours with this little back and forth. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one P4B. I just think going on SNL isn't on the top of my political concerns list.
You have a good one too!

I think my major piss off about this is that if they are so concerned about issues such as health care, etc.....when they have a chance to do something for a charity they should jump on it quicker than a show such as SNL.
Also, I have NO TIME for the Clintons but I really felt that in this point of the elections, the skit was in bad taste.
By the way, posting the Canadian flag is cool but posting pics of beavers is against the guidelines. LOL

LOL, oh man that made me crack up. Sometimes I wish our national animal couldn't be used as a sexual double-entendre.
Hey we have something we can agree on, the Clinton's suck! I have a sad feeling that your country will get 4 presedencies of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. Yipper's, that'll bring about the change. Ah well, I'm voting George Carlin for president:stoned:

Does anybody really believe the adults in that 5th grader show are supposed to be intelligent? Why would Obama want to go on there, the show itself is a joke and will end like most bad TV ideas end in a few months.
As for the SNL thing...I didn't watch it on TV, only saw the clip on youtube...and as like most SNL skits, it wasn't funny. The only part I really liked was Bill Richardsen kissing ass to be Clinton's vp hehe...that guy is really the only decent comedian on that show, they must not get paid much at all. Oh yea, Obama...ya that was great to not even try at humor...just go political...as if SNL viewers are even going to get their ass up to vote....
