Growin sum Trainwreck, mystery seed frm dub sack..w/PICS, need help!

Howzit peeps, Im new to growing, started 2 months ago, and am tryna get serious, and better at growing, since i love buds, and wanna grow for a while. Rite now, Ive had 1 mystery seed thats 1 month 1/2 old since sprout, and 5 TRAINWRECK seeds that are approx 2 weeks old since sprouting.

Currently, My grow space is a Hydrohut Mini 3 X 3 X 6.5
Using Foxfarm Ocean forrest soil w/perilite
Ferts- Foxfarm Grow Big, Tiger Bloom
Thermo/hygrometer; 1 oscilating fan; One 4in Eco plus inline fan 170 CFM; For VEG-One 2ft Sun System T5 High Output 4 blulb fixture(2 cool, 2 warm); For FLOWERING-One 400 watt HPS.
(Ducting, cooltube or coolable reflector comming soon)


POSSIBLE PROBLEM W/MYSTERY SEED - K, Iv had this mystery seed that sprouted in a day 1/2, put it under a single lamp fluoro for 3 weeks to close to a month w/seed started soil, then transplanted it to a bigger pot with Fox Farm Ocean forrest soil w/1/4 more perilite, then placed under the 4 bulb High Output Fluoro lamp. NEWAYS..Its bin a month half since sprout, the color is ok, not yellow or nething, but the thing looks like a midget? Only 4 inches tall, there are 5's, but all pretty small. Does neone know if sumthings wrong w/the plant or if it just needs time? 2 weeks into veg already.

My Five Trainwrecks seem to be doing well, even the one that had one if its water leaves tear off:( is gring well:D..dont how itll affect it later since its only bin a couple day since that happened..

Awesome, those robots are super funny! If I were you though, I would bury the stem a little bit, they are stretching to far.

The one in the big pot looks fine it should start taking off when you start feeding it. If you want a little more strech just raise your light a little and it will strech its legs so to speak. The smaller ones need to be buried a little more and they need to be closer to the lights so they wont strech. All in all they look fine just play with your lighting a little bit and you will be fine.

I agree w/ BigWeed. I think all ur babies look good. U should def. lower the lights on the lil guys and burry them a little bit more. As for ur "big pot" I think it looks pretty good and green :thumbsup:. How much of that grow big/gallon are u using when u feed the big guy?

What are your temps under the lights

What are your temps under the lights
temps are usually between 83-87 in light..sumtimes mid 70's.
Also, mid 70's to early 80's when dark.

Humidity stays between 45-58%. Mostly at 50-55 though

BigPot looks so pitiful. something is wrong with him :/
and yea, burry those other suckers more and lower lights/

don't know for sure what is causing pitiful BigPot, but i think that's what BigWeed might have been questioning for... sry. not much help here, but i can guess it might have to do with ferts if he is the only one being fed now.

yea i dont think 1 tsp/gal of gro big would do that to bigpot. First see if overwatering is he prob, which it kind of does look like. Maybee if its not overwatering and lowering the lights doesnt get his leafs standing up, I may think about throwing some mycorrhizal fungi on top of the soil b4 ur next watering. It is used to stimulate root uptake of nutrients, u can get it at ur local indoor gardening store. All u do is sprinkle it on top ur soil b4 u water and it seeps down into the roots. If that doesnt help then im not too sure. Sorry i cant b of more help

Thanks cwesto! yea, i think ima try buy dat fungi. I dont really think overwatering is the problem..Iv bin doin it every 2 days, just foliage misting daily. More pics will b posted tomorrow:thumbsup:

OK you have a few problems here.
First: STOP watering those things! The dirt should be so dry you think it's gonna die.;) For under $10 you can get a penetrating moisture meter that will stop you from drowning your babies.
Second: Those flouro lights should be 1" above the tops, they are stretching to reach the light, help them out a little.

One more thing: Don't feed them until they are 4-6 weeks old. They require only a little bit of moisture and plenty of light right now. Feeding them now will cause ALOT of probs you don't need.

Thanks bro, yea, I think they stretched far cuz I left the light kinna high first 5-6 days thinking it'd be bad for em, bein closer straight from sprout. But yea, Ill water a lil less.. Oh, and do u know how much water I should feed for the 3 gallon pot? And I wanna get 4 CFL's. Could u tell me wut kind would be appropriate for adding 2 on each end, rite below the light I have now? I would guess between 1/4 and 1/2 gallon. I let mine get really dry, then water about 1/3 what I think it needs and leave it for a few minutes wile I tend to others. That gives the water time to absorb into the medium. I water 3 times in a ten minute period. I like to see about 1/2 cup come out the bottom into the drip tray. Before I leave the grow I empty all the drain pans. Don't worry about getting the light too close CFL's will only hurt the plant if it touches it for an extended period of time.

beside the initial stretching they look ok, nodes are alot closer. pots are a bit to big for my preference but to each his own. i like using tall 1 gallon pots for plants the size of the one in the 3 gallon.

for the cfls you want a kelvin rating of 5000 or higher to veg and 3000 or lower to flower. i got 8 2700k cfls for flowering at walmart and its working out nice.

HO! Thanks bra, shit..dint think neone frm da island wud post. Yea, got the soil for TWICE da amount at kahala..shii..just couldnt wait for online order cuz plants were 2 weeks old already. But yea, I got 4 cfl's the other nite. 2 Cool natural 20 watt; 2 cool daylight 26 watt..idk if same thing or not, but dey 6500k. Yea, ur rite bou the 3 gallon thing..jus dint wanna transplant too many times cuza my 2 outta 5 recent shetty experiences..but yea, nxt grow maybe.
Oh yea, do u know nething i can get for gnats or other pests? I seen few flyin round, and possible signs on big midget's lower leaves. Plz leme know.

fungus gnats are a part of growing in da islands LOL nah nah. I dont wanna jinx myself since i havent seen any in a few weeks but i keep a layer of 1-2 inches of vermiculite on the top of my soil to make it harder for them to lay their eggs. kill em when you see em, they usually come out when i water so thats when i hunt them down. hate them buggers.

those cfls should be good for vegging them. youll get the hang of transplanting, now i can transplant without stressing the plant at all pretty much. i had a lot of practice when i had a backyard to work with :(

try homedepot or city mill they always have something to buy lol. last time they didnt have vermiculite but foam rock so i got that instead. check STAR Garden too my aunty goes there and she said its a good garden shop. if you still cant find any just use anything to cover up the top of your pots (ie: foil, cardboard, paper)

where you get your trainwreck beans? i wanna try get some mango and hashberry but still iffy about ordering. my friend gave me some purple type seeds she had so thats my next grow along some other stuff i got. i wanna germ them already but dont have anymore space.

I bought sum B 52 seeds a month before dat, and non sprouted..was hella mad! Dey just sent me 10 more though! If u like, I can give u couple. Leme know bada

hmmm i might have to take you up on that offer. all i got is some really old beans from an old hermie i seeded years back. plus the occasional bagseed.

those leaves might be yellowing due to age so no worries on that, but it could be soil PH. if you got a ph meter check the runoff when you water them.

The light is 1 to 2 1/2 inches over the plants. The reason my treck 1, and 4 stretched was cuz I left the fixture a foot or so over them after sprout, for lil over a week.

where can I get that book?

oh man :wtf:............. dont know what to really say about those spots. some things i would do are clean the waterspots from the reflectors, check the soil PH and be sure its in the 6.3-6.8 range (very important), lastly trim up some of the lower dying foliage on treck 5. did anything get sprayed on your plants or soil that wasnt supposed to? maybe outside plants made inside plants sick if they were exposed to each other. try narrow down the things that you did differently from a couple days before signs of sickness for possibilities. other than that good luck

I bet you anything its spider mites.... look under the leafs for little clear/red/black specks. I just got done with a huge spider mite attack so that looks familiar. If you have brought any plants from outside then it is very likely. I would go buy some quality neem oil immediatly if its mites or you can kiss ur harvest goodbye.... trust me...

Glad to see you are LSTing your next crop, this will produce a much better yeild due to you are keeping the plant compact and can concentrait the light better, your first crop is so spread out so it is difficult for the plant to take advantage of the limited light from the cfl,s. Doing the LST will help this problem alot.

Also are you using any flower booster nutes? I am asking because your buds look small for 5 weeks age. This could be due to the lighting though.

Im using tiger bloom, super thrive on those plants. Yea, they actually look alot better, and bigger in person. But yea, look kina small to me too. im usin a 400 watt hps, both sides covered wit mylar like material.. Any pointers? Next grow ima proly have a Agro sun 430 watt bulb, and maybe 1 more 250 watt hps added. Thanks for droppin by bro:thumbsup:

You are using a great nute program, I use the same:)
Now that I know your lighting, the only thing I can say is keep LSTing your next crop until you go to 12/12. I start LST when they are 6'' tall, I veg for 6 or more weeks, during this time the plant never gets over 8'' to 10'' tall, then I go to 12/12 and just let them go. As you saw in my log the plant remains compact and produces major buddage.

Yea, the plants veging rite now lookin good, n ima only veg 3 of em lil longer since they for my friend, and he's leavin for alaska in 2 months. always have your drying box/area ready BEFORE harvesting!! the last thing you want to do is not have a place to dry your herb.

monitor daily and dont dry quickly it should take at least 10-14 days before curing.

handle the buds as lil as possible to keep the sugars in tact.

Crip update. Plants look good. Everytime I leave plants outside they get a bunch of flying bugs on them. When they're gone they leave black stuff and little tiny holes in the leaves.

Yea, I guess I was lucky. I get gnats every now n den in my tent, Dint have nething happen 2 my plants outside. I cleaned da shit outa that outside grow space, bfore i put the ones i got out der now(under HPS). I used the neem concentrate, tuff stuff, sum dish washing soap, SMC mite killer, hot water, n scubbed dat bitch! floor, tires..dat whole area. I also just diluted n spayed sum neem, wit that SMC(in room temp water now lol)on the leaves lil bit, and used this bug chalk pen I copped at City mill around da pots n stuff. The neem, SMC, bug chalk works well. Ima try clean my tent soon weneva get time..
