hey everyone so heres the situation. my mom was diagnosed with cancer a couple months ago and she is close to the end of her chemotherapy treatments. her main side-effects are low appetite and nausea, but last night she was vomiting (hopefully it was the food she ate but i think its the chemo). my mom used to smoke joints every now and then but now she wont even consider trying marijuana. she says the smell makes her sick. i been doing alot of research and from what i learned marijuana increases appetite (obviosley) and suppresess nausea. i just wish she would try it cause i know it would help her but she just wont. i was just wondering if marijuana has helped any of you in the struggle of going through chemotherapy. help me prove my case :smokin:

Marijuana for me during chemotherapy was godsend.

All the medicines I was taking for chemotherapy, I stopped taking for the last 2 cycles, because weed literally help suppress all the symptoms. I even did light work-outs because weed helped that much.

However, if the smell irritates her, she can't smoke it. Everything that smells not so good to a person intensifies with chemo, making her feel sickly. If she were to take it, it'd have to be through food.

But respect her wishes none the less. Most important thing is to support her and love her, show her strength and optimism.

If it's the smell that bothers her, why not try some brownies? Though it may be hard for her to want to even eat those, it's worth a shot, I think.

Oily works too! (sweet has nothing to do with it!) Just stick some cannabis in oil, heat (not fry), turn it off, let sit, (strain it or not as you like) then use in any recipe calling for oil. I made some "interesting" Turkey Paprika, once. (Run a search on cannaoil or cannabutter to get ideas.) Or look in this mess of recipes-

International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - Cannabis Recipes (http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=7602&highlight=elixer)

Now about the chemo- click the link in my sig! There's about 25 different studies that relate just to treating chemo side effects. Print a mess up and give them to her (AND her doctors- anonymously might be wise).

And what KIND of cancer does she have???? Cannabis TREATS gliomas, breast, colon, some lung and skin cancers! It KILLS (apoptosis is the word they often use) those renegade cells! She may find she has one of the kinds that respond to cannabis. I've got a couple hundred studies on various types of cancers.

Get a vaporizer, very little smell. My adult sons dislike the smell of cannabis, but it's my place, so tough luck! However, when I got a vaporizer, the complaints decreased in a major way. Vaporizers are also easier on the lungs, and actually use less cannabis for the same effect. And the "duff" is still usable in cooking!

If she worries about what "message" it will send to you (all that gov. conditioning affects her- even though she knows the truth)- ask her what message her being sick gives you when there is an simple cure available? What message is the government giving her? (Suffer and die because cannabis would cut into medical profits?) Ask her if it were any other herb with such wonderful effects, would she take it?

And send her over to treatingyourself.com - it's a Canadian MMJ site. Tends to be a bit more sedate and adult there (No "does a dildo feel like a cock?" type questions). Very good people who have "been there".

Give her a hug from me! - Granny:hippy:
