ill be growing in 1sq meter under a 400 watt HPS in COCO using he HESI range of products, the strain ill be using says it can produce 350g - 1000g a sq meter, ill be vegging for 2 weeks and flowering for 10 weeks what would be an acceptable yield for a setup like this my m8 says aim for 1 gram for every watt of light is this correct or could it produce more ?

Your buddy is approximately correct, you can yield about a gram per watt per average flower cycle.
Unless you kill them by mistake or torture them with inexperience. :D
No one is answering because we've all learned not to count our chickens before they hatch.

I WOULD NOT SAY THAT THE WATT OF THE LIGHT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE YEID 400 SOUNS JUST RIGHT MAYBE IF GROWTH SLOWS DOWN ADD MORE LIGHT BUT OTHERWISE I WOULDNT REFER TO WATTAGE TO YEILD

You could produce more than 1g per Watt, but it's going to be dependent on several factors. I.e. - your overall experience with growing, your experience (and understanding) of the strain you'll be working with, proper application of the nutrients you'll be using, climate control, CO2, etc.
Also, vegging for 2 weeks could diminish yield, unless the plants are insanely supplemented with everything mentioned above, and more. Is height a contributing factor in why you're vegging for so little time? You could consider LST and letting them veg for a little while longer, which could easily produce more bud sites.

2 weeks is a really short veg time. Your yield will be decreased considerably because of this. And I take it you are growing a sativa with 10 weeks of flowering?
I'm only saying this because if you are thinking that cutting time out of vegging and adding it to flowering will work, it will not. Don't skimp on the veg time if you want to produce an acceptable amount.

The wattage of the light has alot to do with it. You should do some more research before you make any more posts.
