Whats with the taste?

All right well I just bought some chronic and just smoked a bowl....and well...it tasted...very strange. Kinda like a pasty....taste thats just kinda...Plain. May also mention though that this is the first time in a long time I smoked from a pipe, I've been using papers lately. Oh, and also I dont have a screen so it may just be ashes...

most likely cause you smoked it from a pip but if the high was good thats all that really matters.
