say as many reasons as you can think of why marijuana should be legal for regular use in the united states! :thumbsup:

I think it should be used for medical use because its been tested and could be used for many helpful things. I think it should be sold and taxed in regular stores all over the united states just like tobacco is. It would also eliminate the drug dealers who sell marijuana... sorry if there are any of you out there. It would eliminate some crimes such as shootings over marijuana cause it would be legal. Its a lot safer than tobacco or alcohol OBVIOUSLY. There has never been one overdose or death from marijuana in the last recorded 5000 years. Last year over 100,000 people died from drunk drivers. Last year 17 people died from people under the influence of marijuana. My last good reason is that if everybody smoked... the world would be a better place.

My reason is simplistic. It should be legal because its nobodies goddamn business.A competely organic compound,grows naturally everwhere,hurts no one. There have gotten to be quite a few laws that are clearly unconstitional but they get passed anyway.Seatbelt laws for adults,Motorcycle helmet laws for adults,private consumption of natural substances by adults.Laws that are just nobodies business but your own.

It's the best medicine. I can remember many times when i felt like shit. Didnt wanna eat, didnt want to drink a whole lot, straight up shitty. I took a couple tokes and i was askin for the water and the grapes and all sorts of good shit. :jointsmile:

The fact that we are facing a major health crisis! The baby boomers are hitting their 60s- with all the aches and pains of getting older. Cannabis treats many of these problems- cancer, Alzheimer's, IBS, MS, fibro, arthritis and much more! Which will cost our seniors more? Big Pharma's pills or growing a plant in the garden? Having a home-grown joint, instead of a $10 pill, may mean the difference between eating and not eating for low income seniors! Of course, Big Pharma is not happy with this idea. :rastasmoke::pimp::rasta::stoned::hippy: (I predict there will be some "old hippies homes" that will grow some of California's finest! :thumbsup:)

Oh, and we mustn't forget the children! lol Once cannabis is legalized, it will be out of the hands of the "shady dealers" who will sell anything to anyone with the money. Dealers are businessmen- they always want to expand their market- whether that means recruiting new customers, or widening their present customer's drug consumption to include more "profitable" and addictive drugs. They are in it for the money!

When cannabis is legalized, the price will drop and dealers will no longer sell cannabis- when was the last time you met a drug dealer selling alcohol? Kids will get it the way they do alcohol or cigarettes today- get an older brother or friend to buy it at the liquor store! No exposure to the "shady dealer" = no exposure to harder drugs! Plus with it's connection to "old, sick people", it might lose some of its glamorous, "forbidden fruit" mystique! Use by minors has gone down in medical states!

Quality control will become more common. Cannabis will be certified as organic and unsprayed, free of mold and any other contaminants- just like any other agricultural product. Strains would be as advertised and easier to obtain. Research into which strains are best for what ailment will be commonplace knowledge.

Because of the price drop, cartels would become less interested in cannabis. Why grow something with a low profit margin, that little old ladies can grow in their back yard? The illegal grows in our national forests would stop! No more armed immigrants guarding $500 an ounce crops! No booby traps catching an unwary hiker. Remove the high profit margin and they will lose interest rapidly!

Then, if they tax it, it is an income source for the government. Add the savings from not hassling otherwise law-abiding cannabis users, and we are beginning to talk about some real money. Plus the cops can look for some meth dealers and do some good!

If we release all non-violent cannabis users, we alleviate much of the crowding in our jails- and gain room for another murderer or car jacker! It costs more to keep a man in prison than it costs to put him through college! (If I were "Queen", I'd set them free and give them a one year full scholarship (including room & board) at their local college. It would cost less and give them a chance to get their lives back on track!)

Because once I started smoking it, I was able to successfully come down from 14 pills a day to just three (ha, hormones. Cannabis can fix the depression and anxiety disorders, but it can not fix my ovaries.) with no problems.

I used to take prescribed amphetamines, sedatives, anxiolytics, anti-depressants, muscle relaxants, one medication with paralytic/anti-convulsant properties, and sleeping pills. (Yes, it should here be noted that my doctor was a bit of a candy-pusher.) Now that I smoke, I no longer take any of those, and this change has happened in less than two months. I feel better, I'm doing better in classes, it's easier for me to function without the migraines and the overwhelming panic attacks. It should be legalized because it works better (for some things and for some people) than what most doctors can prescribe. I do NOT live in a medical state, and I do not see why I should be denied something that helps me so much.
