I didn't have time to write about this yesterday but around 6:00 I was on the phone with one of my friends and I was outside and I saw this plane about 2 miles away and it was coming in low, very low. At first I couldn't tell if it was a jet or a prop but it soon became clear that it was a commercial jet. I live about 12 miles from the airport and they never come in this low. It was flying about as high as some the ultralights (or whatever they are called) that fly over my house. I am such a bad judge of distance but I would say it was well under 2000 feet if not at 1000 feet. When it flew over my head I could clearly read everything written on the plane, which ended up being a UPS cargo jet, probably 727 or 737. I could read the UPS clearly on its tail as well as the smaller lettering down the fuselage and smaller lettering on the tail. The plane didn't sound healthy but obviously it made it safe back to the ground. The friend that was on the phone with me could see it too as he was about 3 miles away. If I got the right angle I'm sure I could have seen the pilot's faces. We went to a party later on that night and I was telling someone the story and my friend tried to say it was still above 7000 or 8000 feet. I was like "you're going to tell me that with my bad eyes I was able to read the lettering from a mile and a half away? Think about if it was on the ground and we were down the road looking at it, I would have to be very close to it to read its tail." He agreed it was probably between 1000-1500 feet off the ground. I wish I had a pilot's license because I probably could tell why all that happened (in addition to flying my ass around). Maybe there was heavy traffic and they sent the cargo plane low. Visability was great yesterday so I don't think that had anything to do with it. Anyway, it was kind or weird and cool getting buzzed by a plane that low.

Did the Brown Clowns drop you off a little sumin sumin at least? Like an airdrop of water, rice, kerosene, or government cheese? No?! Jerks.

That would have been pretty scary.
