is it a good idea to root a cutting in a peet pod and how long till the root structure is developed enough to start to veg ?

soz about that fellas i meant jiffys is there something i could add to the water when soaking the jiffy to improve rooting of the clone ?

Those will work, and I assume you put rooting hormone on the cuttings. I would just use with straight water. It's hard to tell when the roots will develop good enough. The only way to tell is to look and see. I would estimate 1.5-2 weeks for roots. Cloning is somewhat difficult, but just get them their water and check to see what they need and you'll be good.

If it's available, rockwool might be a better alternative. Jiffy tabs, at least in my experience, have a tendency to stay either too moist, or can completely dry out with little notice. With these extreme environments, it can be a coin-toss on whether or not the roots will thrive. I won't even use them for germinating/seedling stages anymore because of this. But maybe you'll have more luck with them than I did.

And I agree with SmokeNChoke...you shouldn't add much more than water & rooting hormone in the beginning. If you feel the need to throw in something else, one or two drops of Superthrive per gallon of water probably wouldn't hurt, but isn't really necessary.
