I donā??t know. If I had to take a guess I would say you just die. Thatā??s it. You donā??t come back as an ant. You donā??t go to some happy city in the clouds and meet baby Jesus. You just die. Depressing, yes. But I think it is more logical then the idea of heaven. Reincarnation is a good second guess. Itā??s weird because I donā??t believe in a god or any religion, but a part of me kind of likes the idea of reincarnation. The universe is just to confusing that anything could be possible. Maybe itā??s just me not wanting to accept the depressing reality of just dying. Heaven sounds way too easy.

Well, the thing is you don't remember. That doesn't mean nothing was going on. That doesnā??t mean something was going on either. Iā??m confused.

I would like to think its fucking incredible, that after you die, you are painless and free. I love thinking that, but its hard to understand and fully believe with such lack of physical proof. Sometimes I think emotional strength is more important. I admire people that are so spiritually in tune. Most of me believes that there is some sort of life after death... whatever that may be.

I believe in reincarnation. I think that once we die the energy stored inside us finally gets released. This is why we are all techincally one, all just energy. Everyone is just energy that created a concious thinking we are individuals. Once the energy is released, it'll continue its clockwork and create whatever it feels like is next. It may be to create a tree, or it may be to create something that eventually creates a concious that thinks its an individual, which in turn confuses itself in wondering how it got there in the first place. I think the only way to truly understand to beginning side of life is at a piont when we dont have a concious, but at that point we wont have memory to be able to remember so it'll never be known...haha.

Just dyeing seems odd to me. Yes, I do think when you do die, you just die. And that's the end of it. But, think about it. How can there be literally NOTHING? Ever? The thought of nothingness is really mindblowing, if you think about it. Because if there is nothing, then there really is something, but it's nothing. You know? It's really hard to explain, but think about it.

I like to think that when I die, I won't really know I died, because I'm dead. Wait, of course I won't know, because I'm fucking dead... I meant to say that, I hope I won't notice myself about to die, that it just happens, and when I'm dead, I won't know the difference anyway. You know?

Its possible to be open to other people's opinions. No one person is right, its just what you are comfortable within yourself and not judging or shutting down other people's beleifs.
Im rambling, and stoned. Peace.

well I know nothing about death, but according to Buddhists there are 8 stages to death in the mind, because it would take a huge post i don't feel like making to try to explain them, i will just list them.

1 mirage (you visualize things similar to mirages)
2 smoke (you visualize things similar to smoke)
3 fireflies (" " " " fireflies)
4 flame of a candle(" " " flame of candle)
5 vivid white sky-mind
6 vivid red or orange sky-mind
7 vivid black sky-mind
8 clear light

im pretty sure this all happens moments before your body actually dies, but it can feel like it takes years. pretty interesting

there is only one fact we know about dying...and that is that we die..that is all we know...everything else is speculation and hopes

Over the past few years, I've started to believe in reincarnation. For some reason, the "keep doing it until all the evil/bad is gone from your soul" sounds reassuring to me. Had a friend once tell me that Socrates (I think) said that deja vu was "the soul remembering its past lives". That makes sense to me.

deja vu "the soul remembering its past lives". yeah does make sence watched program on tv about it i think reincarnation will not happen for most people but i think it can happen it has kind of been proved there are things in life we will never know i think if we knew that reincarnation would happen we would be careless in our lives knowing that hey we going to get another chance ?

this past spring, i sat with my grandmother as she was passing away from cancer. what was really touching to me, and this is something that has affected me the most about my beliefs, was that she was a devote catholic. and when the preacher from her church came over and started saying a prayer, she sat up out of bed... she had been unresponsive all day, but when he came, it was eery to see her sit up... then about an hour before she passed, she started calling out to her husban who had proceeded her in death.. while she was calling out, she was looking up to the corner of the room and doing her best to point.. it was as though she could see him coming for her... that and after seeing orbs and strange stuff in my aunt and uncles house, kind of has me believing, that the energy from the body is relieced, and your free do decide your desteny... wheather that to wait for the one you love the most, gard a place that was significant to you, or whatever, you choose in the end.

I beleieve when you die your soul gets reiencarnated into another life form. Cause energy cannot be trully destroyed or created, it has to come from somewhere.

I'm not sure. I certainly don't believe in a god. But i believe there could be parallel and infinite universes (M-Theory). Maybe its possible to end up inside of another one.

ok heres the easyist way i can i explain it. imagine your body is a bucket. now imagine your "soul" is water. when you are born your "bucket" is filled with "water" from a giant lake. now when you die the "water" is dumped back into the "lake". when another is born another "bucket" is filled with "water" from this "lake".
now even tho another "bucket" of "water" may be drawn from the "lake" it will not be the exact same "water" that was put in. so that all the "water" eventually mixes. if you think about this it will explain past life regression, deja vu , etc. you not only remember a single past life but the lives of all the differant molocules of "water" in your bucket. and esp is simply related molocules communicating with each other. i could go on and on explaining this but i guess this is the basic idea. just something to think about

Mostly I think that when you die, nothing of you remains, and you are gone.

But there is a part of me that cannot accept that. If soemthing lives on, I don't think it is like anything our traditional religions tell us --- it's not about reward or punishment for how you lived your life. Maybe all of our experiences are gathered together, the good and the bad, human and animal, from all over the universe, all of it from every one of us, and combined together. Once we all experience all of it, we learn The Truth.

Or maybe we all just die, and everything we ever experienced is gone.

Oh, threats of Hell and Hopes of Paradise!
One thing at least is certain--This Life flies;
One thing is certain and the rest is Lies;
The Flower that once has blown for ever dies.

Strange, is it not? that of the myriads who
Before us pass'd the door of Darkness through,
Not one returns to tell us of the Road,
Which to discover we must travel too.

I (thought I) saw a dead friend (maybe it was a dream) the first thing I asked was what is death like?

he said "It's not what you think" - smiled, and then left.

Stayed with me for a while that one. OK that's no answer I know, but it sure as hell made me have a good long think about lots of things.

you rot in the ground
thats putting it pretty bluntly but i cant help but everytime i think about there being an after life or reincarnation or something, i realize thats its simply not possible because when you die, your brain dies and your not capable of thought, conscious or sub-conscious and that there is really no such thing as a soul except on a metaphysical level.

A conclusion that I have come to is that it doesn't matter what we believe will happen after we die. Because how could we say what happens? The only way to know for sure is to die.
So the people here saying that it's not possible for there to be life after death, or that there is... is simply an opinion based on absolutely no knowledge (an ignorant opinion - and I don't mean that with a negative connotation). So to me, this whole question is kind of pointless, but I'm answering because it seems stupid that people hold firmly to these beliefs about what happens after death.

Are you dead? No. So then how could you possibly have an opinion on this? Well, I know why. It's all based on influence, and people have only adopted these opinions because of it. An opinion on this matter holds no ground.

Just my thoughts, have fun!
And for the record... I hope there is life after death.

Cheers

Thats actually the perfect anwser. You go back to where you came from. So therefore, if there was something before then theres something after.

Ever notice how everthing in life is a cycle...
- life and death
- rain, evaporation
- seasons
- day and night
etc.

Theres a reason for it. Everything is unyeilding and infinate.

ive thought about this a WHOLE lot. not to be self conceding but sometimes i think what if this is all a dream that i am having? and that life is all just a big dream, everything, this that and life? sometimes ive acctually thought what if im in a coma of some sort and this is what im imagining? Sometimes i think that this is a dream and that i am going to wake up and be like 5 years old again and relive this whole life. Or what if i had taken some hallucinogens of some sort and this is the aftermath of it? like im still hallucinating? What i believe in tho is that we do go to heaven and thats what i would like it to be so im hoping. Reincarnation i believe is possible, like right now im thinking about if i die and i come back as someone else that i could remember my life now but then i think well what if ive already been reincarnated and its my life right now? i cant remember me having a past life. idk just something i thought id write up

yeah all these answers are cute, deep, and responsive...but its all BS. you die, and then thats it. your born, you die. Life is not as mystical, creative, and methodical as you guys seem to think it is when you smoke your jay and have these deep philosophical stoner discussions. i'm sure its fun and makes you feel a better then the sap who is smoking a jay and shoving his fat ass face with a burrito, but alas...i don't fall for it. and honestly, its really depressing, it really is. so live it up.

I used to wonder that all the time years ago for some reason, what if life is just a big dream, a massive hallucination? I guess I've always been searching for that answer in some way or another.

If you want to know what happens after you die just read the Bible. It explains it all there. It's real. People need to start realizing that before it is too late for them. There is something bigger than yourself in life. I know it's hard to believe things you cannot see, but that is the whole point. God wants to test you.

Death is perceived as scary. It is the pain that we fear. Our pain is our trial that we must surpass in order to reach Utopia. When we complete the trial, our bodies become the Earth and our inner-energy approaches its next trial.

Whether or not the next trial is good or bad is beyond me. I like to believe that it will be good because we won't feel pain, but maybe there can be another force that dominates invincibility.

Maybe we're creations of aliens.

Well.......i believe that it is 1 of 3 things, either:
1. You are reincarnated as another human being, your fortune will depend on your karmic actions in the previous life
2. You enter into a dream in the 10 seconds or so your mind stays conscious before you die, since there is no rational sense of time in a dream this lasts forever and is your eternal experience
3. Worms eat you and you never think again or experience the joy of life

Your body pumps out massive doses of DMT right before you die, so you trip balls to the end, so if there isn't anything after death, you enjoy your last seconds. And as of what happens when you die, I have no idea. I would love to think of a Heaven, but I guess none of us will really know what death is "like" until we die. : /

idk...i thought about it once when i was feelin insightful...lol...and thought that when you die you go some lower energy state with your molecules and it is different then what we know...and that was because of fuckin o chem lol and so yeah it was wierd

The water and bucket idea is what I stick to most.
If we dont go straight back to the lake, our energies "seep into the ground", experiencing a whole new level of consciousness and being. Until finally we either repeat or go back to the lake somehow.

I believe in God, and force religion on no one. Consider this: it is better to believe that God doesn't exist, and you die and he doesn't, than not believing and you get there, adn He does!

I dont think you jsut die, energy can never be destroye, just transformed into another type. my opinion...

I like to think that when you die, even in the most tragic way, that it is peacful for you. You get a chance to reflect on your life, your family and friends morn over you passing, but they shouldn't! You become something else, not really sure what that is ( because I haven't died yet) but you take up a place in the universe where you are most needed. From there not sure what happens, can only imagine. Maybe you come back maybe you become a guardian, maybe you get too just relax and enjoy non-life. Really don't know, but have thought about it many times. Don't think you get a choice really though. You go to where you are most needed.
