I use Pro mix BX,
I add 1tblspn/galsoil dolomite lime(agriculture)
I add 1-2 cups perlite or vermiculite

Keeps the PH at about 6.5 all day.

my soil is a good mix. It is 60% Potting Soil, 15% perlite, 10% masonary or builder's sand(no beach sand it has salt), 5% premix and finally 10% worm castings(worm poop, solid not liquid). This is a very carefree soil mixture that will last all the way until flowering

70% Agway composted manure and humus
30% perlite
Buffers @pH6.8-6.9
Too hot for most seedlings; use from first transplant onwards.

70% potting soil
10% horse manure (doesn't stink as bad as u think and its freeeee :))
10% perlite
10% vermiculite

I've done just potting soil and horse manure, but found it better with the vermiculite & perlite.

Some may consider this mixture "hot", but it has worked very well for me in the past.

30% Black Peat
30% Mushroom compost
20% Worm Castings
20% Perlite

I also like to add bone meal to the mix to aide in root development, and will sometimes add blood meal if I'm growing a nitrogen loving strain.
