HPS Distance?

Hi if i was to use 250w hps lighting, how far should the bulb be from the top of the plant? Also how far would a 150w lamp have to be? Any help would be great a limited grow space.

did I read that correctly.. sensi..? that link is talking about hanging lights morethan 12 inches from the tops of plants... that is absurd.. unless the plant is less than a week old...

Lights, with reflectors and proper airflow should,can,could be put nearly on top of the plants... especially anything 400 and under...

4-6 feet for 1000 watt bulbs!!! ....

i just got an hps light, and hung it about 5" from my plants and it burnt them, leaves and bud!!!!! now its about 12" maybe a bit more, and they are doing just fine. ( its a 400w)

My bad. The info is based on if one didn't have a proper ventilation system or none a all. Trying to mess up my reputation as "The Cannabis Master"?
