I have no idea on what this is. I've noticed the deformity ever since they were a new born set coming up. This is the first time I have ever seen holes on a new set of leaves. The next set of leaves looks as though it has a little deformity coming, but nowhere near as serious as this set looks like. I believe that I have been doing everything correct or close to, based off the rest of the set of leaves. I have not noticed the problem on any other leaves, nor on the other plant. I've looked very close on the underside of the affected leaves, and haven't noticed any pests. I know that some pests are very hard to see with naked eye, but I have some very good eyes. Take a look at these pics and let me know what you think.

I can't say for sure you don't have some tiny pest, but that looks more like physical damage, or scarring, to me, probably just cosmetic ... I have almost no experience with pests (I'm a believer in evil, modern pesticides :D) ... StinkyAttic is pretty sharp on this stuff, she will probably help you, but my guess from here, it's just some harmless scarring or genetic glitch ...

I think Reaper is right.....just my (not worth much) opinion but that looks to me like a flaw in the plant itself. Where'd you get the seeds and how stable are they?

Thanks, thats the answer I was hoping for. I'm glad that it isn't anything MAJOR (I think...)! Like I said, the next set of leaves coming up, doesn't look as bad, so hopefully everything will straighten out after these couple of bad sets.

Thanks for the reply! The seeds are Nirvana's Papaya from Gypsy. This is my first REAL try with them. So far it looks pretty stable.

keep a close eye on them, regardless ... since I am only guessing, I would hate for you to lose a plant from some hard-to-see-insect ... besides, I frequently smoke pot

Physical damage, nothing to worry about, those plants are healthy.
