Help With Resin

I always see my friends scrape their bowls and just roll the resin in their fingers and eventually if becomes a nice even ball of res. Everytime I try to scrape number one, it becomes a powder, and number two, when I roll it with my fingers it just falls apart even worse. Is there a certain method to doing this? Like wetting it or heating it up first? I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks.

What a cowinkidink, ive been dry for the past couple weeks trying to put the money towards growing instead of smoking. Everything has been going wrong, already broke 2 things because i dont have the right tools for the job, anyway, I need to get high. I was reading the resin thread i obviously missed and it said paper towels would work. It's worth a try...

confirmed. my wife wont buy anything but the most expensive paper towels. But im sure if your careful the cheaper ones would work also.

Yeah, I was going to say, try using a stronger paper towel like Bounty. Good thing you and your wife aren't on a budget, haha.

You could be torching the resin inside your bowl. When you wanna scrape it, try just taking light hits to warm the resin up. There's two kind of resins, the resin that feels like Opium and or play-doh is something. The other is the more wet resin that is hard to roll up into a ball and feels more liquidy than solid.

I've used the coffee filter method several times, and it usually works pretty well. I just finished cleaning my bowl, and I got a ball of resin about the size and shape of an m&m. There was one time I had a little trouble with it. Usually I just put some water in a bowl, microwave it for about 4-5 minutes, till it almost boils, then put my piece(s) in and let them soak for about 20 minutes, shaking and scraping them once in a while to break up the resin. However, one time the water cooled down too quickly, so I put the water back in the microwave, with the pieces still in it, and nuked it for another 5 minutes. When I looked, I saw a thick, oily film on the surface of the water, and as I pulled my pieces out, they were coated in the sticky substance, and for about a week the residue would get all over my hand when i smoked. I'm not sure what caused this slime, as it only happened that one time when I reheated the water. My point is, I wouldn't recommend bringing the water to a boil with your piece in it.
Also, why so many people dislike resin is beyond me. Sure, it doesn't taste good, but it's pretty damn potent and gets you high, and when you're on a budget or a poor college student, or just can't find any smoke, it's a damn good backup.

shit, i smoked a dime bag full of resin about an hour ago in the RooR. Everytime I scrape out my ashcatchers one piece bowl/downstem i get SO much resin its nuts.

a simple method is take the tube from your bong, hold it with pliars then hold a lighter under it, the oil will start running down the pipe and dribble this along the side of a joint. voila, takes 2 minutes.

To get my resin into a ball to smoke I usually put it all in the corner of a sandwich bag then twist it tight then just smash it all together with my hand.

The resin hardens when it gets cold and then it crumbles. Heat it to roll it.
