Ok i dont want to mess this up. i need some help planting my germ'd seeds. I plan on putting my germ'd seeds in party cups with wet soil. Now should i mix my ocean forrest with perlite befor putting in the party cups or will that mess with the sprouts comming up, or should i just use the ocean forrest by itself and mix the perlite with the soil when i transfer into bigger pots.

Also someone correct me if im wrong but i can put these seedlings in my lit bedroom to make them come up right? i dont have to put them under direct sunlight, or do i?

Last but not least should i water the seedlings or should i simply mist the top of the soil a couple times a day?

My beans are starting to pop right now, so hasty response would be ideal, Thank u everyone.:rastasmoke:

seedlings need SOME moisture, but not too much.... too much can kill 'em.

your Ocean forest will be fine with out adding perlite, but it will give you better drainage(good deal) if you add about 1:3. 1 being perlite and 3 being your soil.

Cool sounds great, i will do Just that. I am guessing i can use that same ratio of 1:3, perlite to soil, for the whole grow??

What about light for the seedlings b4 they have sprouted? I heard that i should just leave them by a window and not put them directly under any direct light until they have sprouted and are a couple inches tall.. is this true?

ive noticed it does not make that big of a difference.....as long as when it sprouts out of the soil you have light on it.

and yes you can use the ratio for the entire grow

I just germ'd a few blue mystics in some styro cups full of ocean forest. I used about a half and half mix with perlite just because I didn't wanna burn up the delicate little things with that super nutrient rich soil.

So yeah.. I'd half/half it and get the soil nice and wet. With all the perlite in it, it might dry out so just keep an eye on it. If it does dry out be real careful watering, don't want to flood the seed out of the soil. Keep the soil damp till it pokes it's head out. Then at that point just water it like a normal plant, ie wet it, let it dry, wet it again.

7 out of 8 seeds have germed already and tap roots were like an inch long and looked like they had some peach fuzz on them. I put my seeds in an ocean forest and perlite mix today that was about 3:1, do u think that will be too much nute rich soil for them?? Keeko said that ratio would be alright. Hey by the way how long do these guys usually take to pop out of the dirt?

I mean, if you already got them in 1:3, don't worry about it. They'll be fine, I was just being over cautious.

I'd say like.. 12-36 hours to raise out of the ground a bit. Wont take too long.

All of the little guys and gals have came out of the ground now, some look like they are standing up faster than other and getting out of that initial bend they have when they come out. How long should i wait to put these sprouts under the 400w MH? Should i leave these guys on top of the fride till they have some defined leafs? Also how do i water a plant this small should i mist the plant itself or actully water the cup?
