Do I have about as much of a chance as a snowball in hell? :(
Does anyone out there have ANY info regarding the Los Angeles County's Probation Department and their drug testing procedure? Like, what kind of test do they use? Is it the standard urine test? Are you supervised while going potty? What happens if you miss one? Are there any acceptable excuses for not showing up for a test?
I am afraid the time has finally come in my life for me to pay for all the zillions of times that I have skated out of this charge or that charge (mostly drug related) and always came out smelling like a rose.
Recently I was placed on 5 years *formal* probation in the County of Los Angeles, California. I have been ordered by the court to submit to random drug testing. Here's my problem . . .
I am a 44-year-old woman that suffers from Bipolar I Disorder with Ultradian cycling (ultra rapid mood swings.) It can ??swing?? a dozen or more times a day if I'm not taking my meds and/or SMOKING POT! No joke. I've been dealing with BP Disorder since the onset of my teens, but was only correctly diagnosed in April 2002. Because of the diagnoses, I was finally put on the 'right' medication. They??re called 'mood stabilizers'. It's the exact same medication they give to people with epilepsy to keep them from having seizures. The pot has always helped me to stay more 'level', more so than anything else I have tried. It helps curb the ??waaaaay highs?? and the ??waaaaay lows??. I have been self-medicating with it for over 30 years.
AND NOW THEY WANT ME TO STOP. Just like that. I don??t think I can, let alone *want* to.
It??s seems so absurd to me, that it??s almost laughable. But not quite.
During the last few years, I??ve noticed that when I don??t smoke >>at least a bowl<< each day, my mood swings increase drastically. My blood pressure inflates from its heavily medicated (Altenolol, 150 mgs per day, Trazadone and Seraquil) stable level at a marked rate and I end up in a full blown manic episode, which more often than not manifests itself producing a ??highly agitated?? state that can last for days. This feeling (normally) doesn??t subside until I either A) collapse from sheer exhaustion due to the overly exaggerated mental processes that are going on inside my brain, or, B) find something to smoke. Even if it??s just a few hits of resin from a pipe. Within minutes, literally, of smoking, my body relaxes, pulse/heart rate slows down and I can finally breathe.
My body suffers tremendously from these episodes.
Okay, now that you know my life??s medical history :( here??s my question . . .
Is there something I can use with only 12-15 hours notice to pass a (urine) drug test? The type of test that LA County Criminal System administers. I am *assuming* I will be watched while uh, for lack of a better term, ??taking (really ??giving?? ;-) their test.
I am a small/medium frame Caucasian woman. 5??6? with weight fluctuating between 110-130 pounds. I am not very active, but have a high metabolism rate.
I am having a really hard time dealing with the thought of complete abstinence from something that is medically and mentally beneficial to me. I don??t know if I can.
Any information or opinions will be greatly appreciated.
