Here is another article on a fugitive caught after 28 years on the run. Dude is 75 now. I'm always pulling for them, hoping they keep evading. 28 years takes talent

haha... by not staying in prison he did what a prison is meant to do to you, stop you from breaking laws again because "he avoided breaking the law" so he didn't get caught on the run :)
But 28 years is pretty impressive, i reckon after that long you'd get less and less careful and then..........shit

The prison system, the justice system, and the government in general are real screwed up. I still hold with the notion it's better a guilty man go free than an innocent man be imprisoned, and also don't do the crime if you ain't prepared to do the time. That being said I think there ought to be an age statute of limitations or a limit to how long they have to catch you.

Its like Ronnie Biggs{train robber}that fled to spain lived his life and came back ABOUT 28 years later wanting medical treatment from NHS.

Interesting concept; on one hand it makes sense to build an age limit on going to prison in the first place into the punishment guidelines for each type of crime. Not just because it makes no sense to lock up an 80 year old dude who was caught 20 years later for say, larceny by check. You know what I mean? He's simply going to cost the prison system a TON of money anyway. Dentures ain't cheap! lol
On the other hand, it gives added incentive to escape- "I just need to stay free for 4 more years without getting caught, then I'm good to go!"

He could have been out soon with good behaviour anyway. Surely 4 years inside is better than 28 years on the run everyday wondering if he will be caught, if every policeman he sees is after him. Not worth the disruption and hassle for a drug offence.

I'm sure all the people rooting for the crims would change thier tune if the victim of the crime was themselves or a member of thier family.
For certain crimes I don't think there should be a let off period, rapists , child sex pests and murderers should be hunted till they're dead.

Politicians might just buy off on that age limitation statute thing. Then they can say, "See, what a wonderful humanitarian human being I am, and I'm saving your hard earned tax dollars because old people need more health-care (like dentures) and we'd be saving all that money". When in actuality maybe most politicians would be thinking, "Shit, now I can't be getting all those sweet kick-backs from the drug companies".
