My plants are looking well ill, not only are the leaves yellow but the stems are going very deep red in colour and new growth is virtually not happening. At first i was told that they need feeding, but have also got a nuit block which will take time to go.
1. can you tell me why the stems go red? and if the flush method, feeding water with just root stim and foliar feed twice a night will get them back green and healthy.
2. if not what do you suggest?.
3. will the foliar spay that is only for this job be effective or can you use a regular grow nuit that has been watered down to weak levels work?
i want to save these babies and don't seem to be succeeding as yet
all help will be greatly appreciated

red stems are seldom signs of nutrient deficiency (phosphorous deficiency, not too common), but are usually the result of temperature swings, or even genetics ... only cosmetic, no worries ... :smokin:

quite a few of my plants have had red streaks in the stems, some of the fan leaf stems are a deep red or almost purple. i haven't noticed a difference in the plants with the red/purple so i think it's nothing to worry about.

Please don't resurrect old threads about plant problems. This was over a month ago. Either the problem is fixed or the plant is dead.

Red stems? Could possibly be from genetics like these blueberry crosses; however, with other problems in the same plants, you need to go to the Plant Problems forum and fill out the troubleshooting form at the top.

Check Out these red stems. I am pretty sure nothing is wrong with them. Ill let you know in 6-8 weeks, when my research is complete.
These pics were taken in the first week of 2008.
